- Laver bread is a dark green substance made from Laver, a type of rock clinging seaweed. This dark green substance is usually mix with fried cockles, bacon, mushroom and eggs, but is also great on toast with cheese, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, etc. Laver, a dried seaweed, is also often eaten wrapped around rice, tops soups as a garnish to add a bit of salt rather than adding straight salt,and is a snack on tables when drinking beer, chocolate milk or honey lemo n juice.
