I have been wanting to try the silk filaments for a while, but never had a suitable project. This Kingroon tri colour filament comes in at a great price. The print quality is perfect. The red and blue can blend together to make a deep purple colour. The light reflects all of the colours and this gave me the idea to print some Christmas decorations. I removed the filament straight from the pack and into the filament drier, the hygrometer only registered 30% rH, perfect for PLA. I completed some filament calibrations prior to printing objects. No problems with bed adhesion, filament feeds without tangles. I have heard silk pla's can be difficult to print with bed and layer adhesion issues, but I have had none of these problems with the kingroon filament. Prints great with layer heights of 0.2 or 0.1mm. I have no reservations about recommending this filament.

Review Update August 2025 De-rated to 4 star - the sachets were not silica-gel but the earth type powder, not an issue in its own right but inside the woven outer is the sachet with powder, one side plastic film the other side paper. If fitted wrong side facing up into the container space it renders it useless. I was lucky fitting some originally but when I replaced an original sachet with the included spare it did not appear to function. Probably as it was porous face down, so beware, no apparent indication of the orientation marked on the outer bag. The only way to be sure is to carefully open the outer bag without damaging the inner bag, photos attached. Hygrometers can be a little erratic although I intend only to warn me that the %RH in the container is to breach 25%. Original Review. Cost effective solution for storing and dispensing hygroscopc filaments when you live in an area where 50% RH is common, typically for TPU, water soluble support filament and even PLA when printing with 0.2mm nozzles. The supplied tube is too short and rigid but is easily replaced. The digital thermometer/hygrometer does not stay stuck to the inside of the box. The transparent pad is best removed carefully to avoid damaging the face of the display and mounting it in a printed holder near the top of the box is much better. Even if it stayed stuck in place you would have to remove it to change the battery eventually. Alignment of the spindle is poor becuase the jig they used for drilling does not account for the assymetrical nature of the container, however it does not affect operation. Pricey but very useful, the included silica gel packs last many months. Another mod is to make a cap to go over the end of the feed tube when disconnecting it from the printer, saves opening the box to wind the filament back in and letting moist air in whilst doing so. The top exit metal cap fits well, all in all a worthwhile purchase. P.S. if using the top fi;ament exit place some Gaffer/Duct tape over the lower filament exit connector.

Good quality PLA. Never used this brand before and always skeptical but need not had worried. Good quality, give a great finish to the models.

This has to be one of the worst filaments I have ever used. It arrived with a matt look too it. I measured it with calipers across a length and it never exceeded 1.68mm, it is undersized from the listing as a result and from the most standard diameter which it claimed to be, 1.75mm. I have been using the same ABS profile in prusa through a multitude of brands of ABS filament and have never had to change my settings and produced prints first time every time for the last two or so years. I questioned the quality of this as soon as I opened the bag, but when my first completed prints came out de-laminated, that confirmed it. I did my best to accommodate with a new profile using the correct 1.68mm dimensions but it still prints like junk, peels apart, over or under extrudes. It also chews up in the extruder, which based on my experience with this printer and my success, I can only put down to the material being weak. This isn't my step counts, my flow settings or anything else that have been absolutely fine with most of the other brands on Amazon, Sunlu, etc, The chewing in the extruder goes hand in hand with the matt appearance of the filament. It looks 'diluted', or like it has some filler within or something that isn't thermosplastic/ABS, which would also probably explain the de-lamination. I am very annoyed because my experience is worth a tonne, I don't just print junk like print in place toys, my printer runs a small business, and I can see junk filament when I use it.

I went with Kingroon Tricolour Silk PLA in red, blue, and green for my Poly Xmas baby yoda and I must admit it is a visually stunning filament that adds a unique, vibrant finish to prints. The colour transitions are smooth and really bring designs to life, making it perfect for decorative or display pieces. There was no stringing it was very smooth print. Despite the high-speed printing, the filament performed exceptionally well without any issues. If you're planning on making Christmas decorations or any festive-themed prints, or even want a stand out bust this filament is a perfect choice. The glossy silk finish combined with the striking colors will definitely make your prints stand out. I Highly recommend.

Used it on my P1S with 0 issues. I would say it handles just as good or better than the Elegoo rapid filament or any other "rapid filament" out there. Used it for a while spiderman helmet and worked with 0 issues. I up the speed to ludacricious on my P1S to test it out and was absolutely perfect

In der Produktbeschreibung stehen 4 Kg, bin daher von 4 x 1 Kg Spulen ausgegangen. Geliefert wird aber nur 1 Spule mit 1 Kg, dafür ist der Preis viel zu hoch (5x1 Kg Spulen bekommt man sonst für 40 €, hier 25 € für 1 Kg). Wenn ich es jetzt nicht bräuchte würde ich es direkt zurückschicken. Filament selbst ist in Ordnung, die ersten Spulen liefen Problemlos durch, aber der Preis ist mehr als überteuert.
