How to Enable I2C Interface
I've used this type of display before, but they came with only the I2C interface. This one can do SPI and I2C, but you need make modifications to the circuit board to enable I2C (Disables SPI). I'm using this with an Arduino Uno and the SSD1306 display library even though this device uses the SSD1309 Chipset. Make the following changes to enable the I2C interface:Remove resistors R4 and R7Add zero ohm resistor or jumper wire at resistors R3, R5, R7Connect DC pin to ground for 0x3C address or pullup to Vcc through a 4.7K resistor for 0x3DConnect Reset pin to Arduino reset pinNo connection required for CS pin.Display operates at Vcc of 3.3 or 5 volts. One star deducted due to a permanent flaw in the display face (see photo). This one will only be used for test purposes only and another purchased for the final project.
