Sturdy and can use two ways
I lost mine and was expecting modern versions to be much less flimsy, but this one is not. Nice and sturdy, all steel, and easy to change blades. The two-way-function (box cutter and paint scraper) is especially nice and something I'd not see before. Love it.

Arrived damaged and loose cutters.
Box arrived crushed and seller said amazon will handle issues. Cutters are very loose and do not hold position while using them. Returning for replacement. Such a hassle for a cheap item but should arrive undamaged and functional. Finish of stainless steel is horrible.Update 6/26/23Seller sent replacement and all is good. Better quality and they stay in or out where you placed them. Raised from 2 star to 4 star. Would rebuy and check the ones you receive and send back if quality is very poor.

Very nice super cheap box opener/utility knife/scraper
I ordered these so I can keep one handy in all the places I need to open, cut, or scrape stuff. For the price, which was $4.97 when I ordered them, you cannot go wrong.Like others have mentioned, these are comprised of 2 pieces of metal that hold and conceal a standard single-edge replacement blade typically used for scrapers and box cutters. Because of this you can take it apart and use the blade to scrape tape or stickers off of your windows too. I will likely keep one in the car, my tool box, my tool pouch, in my computer desk, and one by the door to open all of those Amazon boxes!Unfortunately, one of mine arrived very difficult to slide open or closed. Someone in shipping just tossed the original box in a thin plastic mailer and they got pretty beat up along the way. I don't consider that the fault of the manufacturer, so I'm not taking off any stars for it. I haven't checked it out to see if it can be fixed yet, but as long as it remains this difficult I won't be using it. The last thing I need to do is slip while putting too much pressure on this thing and end up in the emergency room.I definitely recommend these and would get them again for my own personal use if I need more in the future.

Standard Box Cutters for Less than $5!
This is pretty much a standard box cutter. The only difference that I noticed was the short protrusion of the blade (about 1/4 inch) when fully extended. My other box cutters of similar design have a noticeably longer protrusion of the razor blade. We tend to receive many packages, so I am constantly cutting open packages and breaking down cardboard boxes for recycling. Having these box cutters everywhere makes it much easier. It is a plain, all-metal design with no markings. The push-pull action to extend and retract the blade was hard the first couple of times. However, it loosened after a few times. Swapping out the blades was also very simpleThese box cutters are great for opening packages. The small thin, flat design makes carrying them in pockets very easy and comfortable. The slide action is stiff enough that it would not cause accidental opening when inside pockets. I don't mind a bit for safety. The best part about this is the cost, 12 box cutters for under $5 is a steal! I've already given some to family members with still a few left over for me.The only "negative" is the 1/4" protrusion of the blade. As mentioned earlier, this is great for opening packages, but it's a tad short for breaking down thicker cardboard boxes.

Simplicity at its best!
The Harrier Hardware Safety Box Carton Opener Blade, 12-Pack is an extremely good way to keep a sharp and simple cutting blade at your disposal at all times. These box cutters are literally razor sharp, small and can be carried safely in a pocket in the closed position. They'll quickly slide open for use and you can either grab another one or replace the single sided razor blade as desired. They allow for quick and precise cutting without the bulk of an overly large handle. These are well made utility cutters and I consider them an extremely good value!

Functional, Decent Quality
I am ALWAYS losing my box cutters. I run an e-commerce business from home, and now I have carton openers all over the place, so I'm never without one! These are decent quality and not fragile, and for the price point, you get plenty of them. Not the most comfortable ones to use, and I wouldn't use them for anything that required pressure for fear of slipping and injuring myself, but they do their job, as intended. Extremely sharp but they don't cut as deeply as typical box cutters as only one corner of the blade is exposed, so they great for cutting tape or scoring boxes. Just be careful using them, as they are not easily retractable. I will just toss them as they wear out....at this price point, why even bother changing a blade?

Much cheaper than regular utility knives and they are less likely to slash the contents of boxes
I have two issues with regular utility knives. First, it's really easy to slash too deep when opening a cardboard box and damage the contents. Second, they always seem to have wandered off whenever I need one. These knives are basically simple folded metal holders for reversible (and replaceable) single edged razor blades. The blades are held so that they protrude slightly under 1/4". You might still slash the contents of a box, but it's less likely than with a utility knife. As for my second issue, you get 12 of these for the price of one cheap utility knife. This means that you can leave them in all the places you use such knives and probably be able to find one when you need it. BTW, the blades do retract into the handle, but only light friction holds them there, and the back end of the blade holder sticks out of the handle, so don't try to carry one in your pocket as it will almost certainly open.
