Love these glass straws!! I bought a set of 4 in 2023 and 2 of them are chipped so buying a replacement set. These are thicker glass so they hold up well- the fact that they lasted 3 yrs before they chipped says ALOT since these travel with me everywhere - even camping. Easy to clean and there is never a question on them being pristine clean - especially in the elbow as you can SEE for yourself! I dislike drinking from anything other than glass - so I appreciate these straws immensely. No aftertaste like with stainless or plastic etc

I have several of the hard plastic reusable straws and some stainless steel straws. I hate the plastic ones because they just don't feel clean. There is something about plastic, even hard plastic that always seems to retaining germs and other yuckies to me. The glass straw fixes that, it feels super clean! These straws are awesome! The thought of glass straws seemed a bit daunting to me. Like, if i bite it, will it shatter and cut my mouth into shreds? No! Not, it won't! These are super sturdy. I've dropped mine. I bite on them, I twirl them around, and I just store them in a drawer with a bunch of other stuff - NO PROBLEM. Why are the straws amazing? Well, besides the durability - they are glass and clear - so they FEEL clean. You can see through them and know there's not smoothie gunk left in there or lipstick. Also, they are wide enough to use with a smoothie! I use these for my morning smoothies and they are a dream. They also clean surprisingly well even without the brush. Don't get me wrong, you want the brush and you're going to want to scrub these between uses. It's just worth noting that even when i just rinse it off to put it in the sink, most of the smoothie gunk flows out with just water. A few notes - these straws are too wide to be used in some lid openings. I tried to put it through my yeti top and it won't fit. I added a picture of the straw sitting in a 20 oz yeti tumbler so you could get some idea of the length. It's a pretty good length. Also, I haven't drank anything hot through the straw, but you know it's glass - so if you do it will be hot. These are my favorite reusable straws, so clear, so clean. Definitely worth the investment.

I did a lot of research on different straws that I could take with me to restaurants to avoid getting plastic straws, which are horrible for the environment. I decided that I wanted glass straws made in the USA. Then I found the Hummingbird glass straws - both straight and bent - made in the USA with many excellent reviews, and they were just what I wanted. I decided to get the bent straws, which I really like. I had some questions and emailed the company, and their customer service was top notch, as they quickly responded to all my emails and answered all my many questions. The glass ends are smooth and rounded, unlike some other straws I saw with sharp edges, and each straw is handmade, which is unique in this day and age where so many items are mass produced. They say the glass straws are shatterproof, and they told me that they offer a lifetime guarantee. They also include a small brush for those times then sometime might get stuck, which I think is rare. There are some less expensive glass straws available, but I believe the Hummingbird price is reasonable for shatterproof handmade glass straws made in the USA with outstanding customer service and a lifetime guarantee. First I bought the 9" x 9.5 mm bent glass straws, and I find that they are good for smoothies, etc. Initially I thought the 9.5 mm straws were a little too big for things like iced tea and sodas and so I also bought the 9" x 7 mm bent glass straws, and they are perfect for iced tea, soda, etc. I haven't tried them in smoothies. After using both the 9.5 mm and 7mm straws with iced tea, I find that both work equally well for iced tea, sodas, etc. I also find the 9" length to be just right for regular height glasses, and even for the Starbucks frapuccino I bought. Overall, I am very pleased with these straws and highly recommend them. I wouldn't have ordered a second set otherwise.

Received my straws yesterday. 2 day shipping turned into 5 day shipping but I got them just the same. Packaging was a little skimpy. Straws were rolled in several layers of paper and put into a very thin (but attractive logo stickered) cardboard box. I carefully unwrapped the pkg. expecting some to be broken.Much to my delight and surprise all 4 straws were in one piece. I washed them, made a smoothie for myself and thoroughly enjoyed my new straw. We are trying to stay away from plastic as much as possible. It made no sense to me to make this healthy drink for myself everyday and use a washed out a plastic straw from yesterday because I felt terrible throwing a plastic straw in the trash after each use.( not too environmentally friendly, but who wants to drink from a used straw? a plastic one no less) It was a no win situation. Finally it dawned on me that there must be glass straws out there. Enter Hummingbird glass straws. It was so wonderful to sip my healthy concoction via a glass straw. It's just a tad wider than a plastic bendable straw which slowed down my ability to just chug down my drink. I absolutely love these straws. Glad I bought 4 because now my Husband, who never used a straw, wanted a straw too,now that they are glass. The cleaning brush that comes with is so convenient to easily clean out these glass straws. Should they ever break I will not hesitate to buy them again. One more plastic thing out of my life. Yay!

These dabbing straws are great. I went through a ton of the "cheaper" knock-offs from places far away and in every case the glass was cheap and cracked after minimal use. Worse, the cheap ones try to get too fancy or gaudy with their products making them impossible to clean well. They look cool when you get them and then you pay the price the rest of the time you own them. The straws from Hummingbird on the other hand are simple (read: easy to clean, even includes a brush for the purpose), sleek, perfectly-sized for the purpose and best of all, they are solid enough where you don't feel like they will break due to heat anytime soon. The best part about the Hummingbird straws I got was that they ended up actually being cheaper than the knock-offs from far, far away. Win-win for this customer in any event. If you have a dabber on your list this year, they will thank you for this.

Update 5/25/2020 : while I still very much love these straws, I am so disappointed at how they have all dangerously chipped. The scary part is you won’t know it’s chipped until it’s possibly too late...like after you’ve had that sip of water and feel a crunch in your teeth only to find it’s a chip of glass from the bottom of your glass straw. True story, happened last night to my very last straw. Happened to all of my glass straws, too...so bummed. I want to reorder, but I’m so hesitant now. Wish there was a way to protect the bottom of the straw from chipping. This is very serious and dangerous, what if my child had drank the water last night and swallowed that piece of glass!!!!! Dropped rating from 5 to 4 stars Original Review: These are awesome and durable and the best straws I ever used!! I’m super stoked on these and highly recommend!! I hesitated because hey were glass and have been using stainless steel and silicone straws, but when I decided to give these a try, I was hooked and can’t go back!! I first purchased a 4-pack of these glass straws in 2015. I used just one straw all day every day, dropping it multiple times into my porcelain kitchen sink and onto my laminate kitchen counter without any damage. And then I dropped it onto my kitchen floor a couple of weeks ago and it broke at its base. So that one straw lasted 11 years! I'm using straw number 2 from that same package now, and if I get clumsy and break it there will only be 2 left. I'm 84 and plan to live to 100, so that'll probably be enough, but I've purchased this new set of 4 just in case. The packaging is nicer and the straws look great - very sturdy, no sharp edges. The new cleaning brush will serve as a backup, since I'm still using the brush from my original purchase. Truly an excellent product!

I love these straws, especially for warm beverages. They are attractive and strong for a glass straw. They also come with a cleaner brush. Would make a good gift!
