Nice planter and a watering suggestion
I purchased this upgraded hanging planter plus one of the original planters just to see the difference. Plus, I found a good deal on the older model.Personally, I wouldn’t consider using one of these planters indoors, especially the older model. They are messy! The Meiwo planter is larger, has much better pockets that hold more soil and has a satin like fabric layer on the back of the felt that helps reduce water movement towards the outside rear. If hung on a wooden fence it would be less likely to cause water damage. The older model is just one layer of felt.I do have a suggestion for making these easier to water. Add drip irrigation! You can see adjustable droppers in the photos, but I have ordered some 1/2 gallon per hour drippers to replace them. I just could not get the water flow equal and slow enough with the adjustable drippers.All I did was cut a slit in the back of the fabric and pulled the drippers thru. Watch out for your fingers! I sliced one with the scissors. I wish I had thought of this BEFORE I planted the strawberries.It would be really nice if the manufacturer would sew in a buttonhole that could be opened or not depending on their watering plan.

A++ For Balcony Garden
After looking at planter options to work with my available gardening space (balcony in a city) I read a few reviews for this vertical planter. Thankfully I purchased when they had updated the product to a new spec. Wanted to wait until I used it for a few months before reviewing. The design, material, quality, size and price were all great. They even came with extra zip ties. I strongly feel that other reviews I read on the new spec* that were saying water poured over the front didn’t plant/ add soil or water properly. I did not have any issues and had basil, chives, green onions and cilantro that I watered 2x a day. Aside from the desire to maximize the space used for planting, it also allowed for some shade for other plants to thrive. Recommend for herbs or any plants that only need a few inches of soil.

Not for indoor use!
I am very glad that I did not get these for indoor use. It doesn't take very much water for it to run out of the bottom. Be sure that wherever you put them can get wet.

This planting method gets more compliments than any in my garden.
I like this and will buy more. This is the larger of the two in this photo. It was planted in two months ago but pruned today. I will add a photo in a month.The pockets are deeper than the smaller one which was just planted.I'm experimenting with plants that will work best. It is a very affordable option for the amount it adds to an area.I've learned: do not put the soil very deep. The pouches tilt forward when watered, I folded the plastic from under the bottom pouch as it held too much water.It has room for 2 plants in each pouch but one seems to work best.

Very impressed for the price!
These are great! I was a bit concerned they would be flimsy, but they hold dirt, plants, and water no problem! My plants are loving their new homes :)Protip: fill the soil from bottom to top, then plant top to bottom. Water at the top as it will run down the back, which is pretty sweet as far as water-saving goes, but be careful because it does soak through a bit. The back does have a covering on it to protect the wall (or whatever you have it up against, e.g., fence), but I ended up wrapping a cardboard box in a big black trash bag to help protect the wall of my indoor garden. Will buy more once I have more space!

Not worth it
Reallyyyyy hard to retain water - no matter how much we watered, everything we planted in here ended up dying or just not growing. Idk maybe it’s a user error but I think there must be better ways.

Not completely leak proof
I purchased this for use inside my home.PROS: water drips from top pocket through to the pockets below.Back and bottom pocket are lined with plastic.Holes for hanging have a metal grommet to help support the weight.CONS: because water flows through, the top pockets dry out faster than the bottom. Should plan accordingly when planting.Not completely leakproof. I’ve taken habit of putting a towel underneath to prevent damage to my floors. So far wall behind looks okShape of pockets make plants still stand “normal”. Unfortunately because of the space between pockets, my plants aren’t figuring out how to grow out. I planted each at a slight angle to try to encourage this growth, but I’ve lost a lot of the plant.Overall is it a decent design. I would purchase again for outdoor use.
