This really works! But add food to the ramp
This actually works!!! Please do fill the pool to the top as they also help the ducklings get out - it may take them a day or 2 to TRUST the ramp . Try putting some wet dog kibble or baby duck food on ramp to get them to go close to it…. Also put in water before babies are born if you can so Mama will trust it !! Good luck

Save the frogs!
We love using these frog escape ramps in our pool so little animals don't get trapped and end up dying. Last week we were really happy we had this escape ramp when we saw a baby duck from the lake had fallen into our pool but had found the ramp and was able to climb aboard and get up and over the rock ledge. It sits low enough that even a baby duck could manage to get up into the "bed" of the ramp and then make its way out over the edge. I hate to think of it being possibly trapped in the pool and not making it out in time. This does NOT seem stable or sturdy enough though for supporting a small dog. You have to put rocks or something heavy in the back pouch that is on the yard side that keeps the ramp stationary on the pool edge. I think even a small dog would be too heavy for the ramp portion and would probably end up clawing it into the pool with them instead of being able to use it to get out. This is a good idea though and maybe this company could make and offer a larger one with more pool float supports and a heavier rock pouch that anchors it that would work for supporting the weight of a small dog.I already plan on giving one of these to my parents for Mothers or Fathers Day for their pool and to close friends who have pools as just a neat and useful gift. This would make a great gift to give someone who has just installed a pool. Would also make a really thoughtful and unexpected gift to those friends with a pool that you find yourself hanging out at and enjoying over the summer.

DO NOT BUY THESE if you don’t want dead little critters in your pool
Do not buy these! Go with the classical ones, the ones they advertise against. Found 2 drowned chipmunks in my pool. It NEVER happened with the ones i had before, i thought i should give these a chance, but hell no. One of the little guys was floating right next to one, obviously couldn’t grab it, since they come from the side and will try to grab from the side, but the side is bulky, they will not know how to swim in front of it to the intended ramp. The conventional ones offer them a chance to climb in there from the sides as well, never had an issue with those and never found a dead animal in the pool with those. Do yourselves a favor and do not get these if you plan on saving those animals that fall into your pool.

Ramp seems too short. I'm hopeful
I'm not sure about the Design on this particular one. The ramp seems to be too short and it barely fits over the edge of the pool and may not function properly.I can see that it would easily be drug into the water on any amount of weight put on it. In the past I have used another brand and it does seem to keep the frogs out of the pool. I will try this one but I have my doubts

Not durable
Works pretty well, as we've seen frogs, etc on it. However, it doesn't wear well. The bag part that holds stones to weight it down on pool deck, has developed holes that allow the rocks to fall out. Lasted about 1 year.

So easy and it actually works
The media could not be loaded. My wife laughed at me for buying this and said it will never work. I said every day frogs die in the pool. I set it up easily and literally within 30 min a frog went from swimming to climbing out of the pool. See video it works…

Better than the other type
Sorry to see these are no longer available. More and better solutions are needed for small animals to be able to climb out of the pool. I bought the blue mound type designed for frogs, but only because I could not find something for small animals that was affordable. Then I tried these and I think they are better because the netting floats right at the surface so a critter can swim right into it and the floating foam pad under the net makes it more flat. The higher sides keep it afloat. My cat accidentally jumped in the pool, swam right to the side and used this to get out. Her weight made the small pouch of rocks slide off the deck but it was stable long enough that she could climb right out. Dogs, cats and other small animals are at risk around pools. I am really surprised there are not more and better products. I will be anchoring mine with stakes between my patio types. I would buy about six more to position them all around the pool if they were available. Here's hoping someone decides to make some that are sturdier, they will have the market cornered. Every pool family would buy some.
