It does work perfectly!!!
This product is amazing!I was very hesitant to buy it by read the reviews about it would stain the jacket.I used the whole bottle for 3 adult jackets, 3 kids jacket and a pants. Some tips I used:1. Wash your jackets and total dry them.2. Hang on outdoor somewhere for better spray and reduce irritation to yourself.I do wear mask and glasses, I feel I need a goggle because when it gets to my eyes I feel little irritated.3. Gentle reverse the bottle multiple times every time before you use it to mix the solution well.4. As the instructions says spay 5-10 inches away to the jackets. When you notice there are water dripping, wear gloves to wipe it. My strategy is make sure the spar even as possible.5. For pretty wear out places, repeat spray 2-3 times .6. Air dry or dryer at mid-low temperature for about 20minute minutes. When I spray the male yellow jacket which my husband used a lot for about 5 years, the spray made it wet and looks like a lot of pink/red stains. It looked scary, but when the jacket dried, the stains disappeared. I sprayed my husband yellow jacket 3 times, every time wait a little bit in between. I retested two yellow jackets under tap water. They are like new!! My kids jacket since I do not have enough spray, I can notice the got sprayed part waterproof and the other part still wet. So good even spray is very important.I just not sure how long the treatment will last if I use and wash the jackets again.

Great to refresh a rain jacket
Got this to refresh my rain jacket for an upcoming cruise. Easy to apply and no white residue. Worked great.

They stand behind their product!
I received this product in early March and used it last weekend. After washing my jacket, I tried to apply the Revivex Durable Water Repellant. It was watery with white chunks in it that didn't go away no mattered how long I shook the bottle. It immediately clogged up the applicator. I was unable to use it. I left a message with the product supplier. They reached out to me right away on Monday. Apparently with some extra cold weather some product had frozen (my bottle being one of those) which ruined the product. Gear Aid apologized for the situation and immediately sent out a replacement bottle of water repellant spray along with a bottle of prewash so I could start over. I used it yesterday afternoon. All is well and the product appears to be doing the job.Although I didn't like the hassle factor, I was very impressed with the way this situation was handled.

Good stuff. Read this review!
Leaving this review because I saw a lot of complaints that this leaves spots/stains and ruined peoples jackets. That is almost 100% user error. The photos attached are after I treated my gear with this spray. This stuff works very well on my Gortex outerwear. It left no stains or spots on my black Burton AK jacket and bib. Also no spots on my 686 jacket which has lighter colors(more susceptible to oil/dirt stains.) Water was beading up and running off the jackets. Very hydrophobic. If you haven’t washed Gortex or other similar waterproof gear, I would recommend visiting their site and looking at the steps.First I wash the gear with Grangers performance detergent. Then I hang dry completely. Once it’s dry, I throw it in the dryer on low heat for 20 minutes to reactivate any remaining DWR. In some cases that’s all that is needed to make your gear water resistant again. If DWR is needed after the above steps, I hang up the gear and spray it down completely until the gear is wet to the touch. If the spray is beading up and dripping down your jacket you want to wipe off that excess with a clean rag. Apply generously to the shoulders and other high contact areas. After this you can just hang dry your gear but I like to throw it back in the dryer for another 20 minutes on low or medium heat. (Some DWR sprays need that heat to activate.) I know other peoples routines may vary but I do this once or twice a year to my jackets and it works well every time.Gear revivex and Grangers Repel + are my DWRs of choice. I do think Gear Revivex tends to be my favorite.

its ok but maybe needs more coats? Leaves residue
I've been using another similar brand for a long time and tried gear aid. It seems to work ok, but its not as consistent as what I was using. I tried the other brand side by side and this one doesn't have a consistent bead up of water. I washed the garment first and it was only damp when coated. Gave it a nice even light coat and let dry for 2 days. I went outside with the coat in some light drizzle and water kinda beaded up but in some areas it soaked in. Over the whole garment there where white splotches that werent there before. I followed instructions and sprayed the garment when damp not soaked, I let it set for an hour then wiped the garment with a damp sponge. then let it dry. I kinda regret the test with the wash that rid the old coating and trying something new. I should have done a cold wash, mile soap and stuck with a refresh of the previous coating.

Does not work
This stuff is terrible don’t buy it!!! Absolutely covered my jacket in it and did multiple coats but it did not help at all!! Jacket was absolutely soaked and absorbed all of the water. Do not buy this it’s a waste of money. “Amazon’s choice” is a load of bull

Great for reviving Gore-Tex and Adjacent Products
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I use this to retain the water repellency on my Goretex Jackets and similar waterproof breathable membrane products. Columbia Omni-Tech, Drake Waterfowl Duck Hunting Jackets, North Face Backpacks, and even canvas materials. It is much better than other products I have used in the past. An essential piece of kit for outdoorsmen, I keep a bottle in my hunting bag.
