Do not buy from this seller! Apparently you need to understand their concerns ?!
Not very robust at all and the blocks Supplied don’t fit the press, so it is effectively useless. Contacted the seller and they’re refusing to help stating that the warranty is up. I bought this at Christmas and, strangely, nature has only just given us apples to press! It’s not a warranty issue, they sent sub optimal parts that render this unfit for use. Avoid this seller unless you enjoy wasting money or can get apple trees to fruit by March!

Appears well made, go bigger than you think
Quick delivery of the 12l version (which seems small, I doubt the 6l version would handle much, it must be tiny). The wood is nicely finished and the cage arrives constructed but the rest you have to put together but it’s basically simple and meccano for adults. The centre spindle needed some encouragement to fully engage due to some paint in the thread of the base tray or the fact it was new. I was quite conscious of cross threading it but after a bit of effort it fitted snuggly. The rest of the fittings - legs and compression parts are pretty simple. If I’m being really picky there were a couple of very small areas that were missing paint or had minor imperfections but forgivable especially at this price point compared to the more expensive options on offer. I’ll probably oil it with something appropriate that wound contaminate the juice in time but it looks great and use will probably sort that. Just thinking perhaps I should have gone for the larger option but didn’t want to spend too much. It’s prepared and awaiting the apple season for juice and cider making, covered for keeping it clean. I think attaching it to a wooden work bench would create the stability needed to compress the crushed apples, luckily you can screw the feet to something. I’ll update after the cider season.

Mixed feelings
Ok, well having read all the other reviews I already knew that the 2 blocks provided were insufficient, so I had prepared 4 more myself. One the one hand, it works, it presses juice from apples. On the down side, if you do not screw it down to a permanent base, it is difficult to turn the lever when it gets tight if you don't have someone to help you hold the contraption. I now realise it is quite small. In hindsight, I should have paid more and got a larger one.

Does what it say on the tin
This press is easy to use, it produces good apple juice, easy to clean. Just one thing customers might not be aware of, it only comes with two blocks, I found them insufficient so had to make four other from 3" x 2" timber. With these it was even better. Well pleased.

Easy to use but not robust at all
Pros:- Pretty easy to assemble.- Easy to use.Cons:- Didn't come with enough wooden blocks, so unless you make/buy more you can't press the fruit down more than a few centimetres.- The handle's tapered edge is annoying as it keeps pinging out - why not a straight edge?- The screw thread is not very robust - if you screw it down hard, it will start stripping the thread.- The wood is not treated or protected in any way. We only used it a few times and it is already damp, discoloured and chipping
