I bought this book as something to read as I like books on funeral subjects and religion, and if I ever needed to read for the deceased I can now do so as I know people who don’t belong to a local church but believe in the lord! It’s a really nice book I must say looks and feels like it costs way more then what I have paid for. And I have paid more for a book that should have been worth $5.00 This book order of Christian Funerals at $38.00 is so worth it get yourself a copy it’ll be worth it! No matter if your a priest, a minister, or a deacon, or just someone like me who wants to understand how the Christian funeral goes step by step it’s definitely a 100% GREAT BUY.. so if your interested go ahead and buy this Book you will not be Disappointed

Any clergy or minister who has anything to do with Christian Burial needs to have one of these close by. The usual involvement is the celebration of the Vigil Prayer Service, the Funeral Liturgy, and the Committal Service. There are other very useful services which foresee other various needs that can arise because of particular circumstances: Prayers after Death (if called upon abruptly), Gathering in the Presence of the Body (where clergy or a minister might assist a family at the opening of a Wake Service in some difficult situations), and the Transfer of the Body (helpful on the day of the Funeral if the Vigil Service could not be done the day before).It contains a form of the Liturgy of the Hours known as the Office of the Dead. Times may present themselves when the communal praying of either Morning Prayer or Evening Prayer might be a suitable option for a particular family or community.As a self-contained resource, this book supplies an ample, but not exhaustive, selection of readings from Sacred Scripture that are appropriate for and accustomed to Christian Burial. These include readings from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms and the Gospels.The book comes with its own Introduction which gives a basic overview of the Rites, Symbols, Gestures, Motions, and possible manners of participation.Published by the Catholic Book Publishing Co, this is basically the same as the version  Order of Christian Funerals: Ritual Edition  published by the Liturgical Press. I have always preferred this version. I simply find it more concise, and easier to use and follow when leading any of the services found therein.

All around excellent. It replaced another funeral rite book I had worn out. It is sturdy and a perfect size for officiating at a funeral.

This is exactly what i was looking for.

As a recently ordained permanent deacon I've found this book to be very helpful in conducting Vigil services, funeral liturgy outside of Mass and the Rite of Committal. I really appreciate the large print font used to make reading easier. Overall very happy with the purchase.

There was nothing to dislike about it, book is in excellent condition. I need the book as part of my studies to become a deacon in the Catholic church.

Quite a bit out of date but it arrived as I expected.

A beautiful book, but I had to return it as it is for use in America, and is not approved for use in the Catholic Archdiocese of Liverpool (UK)
