Great for mortar
Had to replace a brick mailbox that was hit during the night. Getting mortar just right to lay the bricks seems to be out of my class so I built the core of the mailbox with cinder block and then added the bricks using construction adhesive spacing them with 1/2" wood blocks.I then used this bag to add the mortar between the bricks. It works great - just don't thin your mortar too much. The mailbox looks so good, I have neighbors asking if I would do theirs.

Well made, limited function for what I needed.
I had the same problem as some other reviewers.I bought this to fill a couple wide cracks in my walkway. I made a pretty thin slurry with hydro-cement--no stones in it. The tip clogged withing seconds. The slurry was thin enough that I was able to pure it out of the top of the bag into the crack.I will try it again with the metal tip removed-- but I do not have high expectations.The product seems to be well made, thick, rubberized canvas like material.

Had to modify this bag
At first I didn’t like this bag for grout. It looks like a cake decorating bag and the grout wouldn’t come out very well. I cut a bigger hole in the end and made my grout wetter and now it works!

Makes block laying much easier and cleaner
This is a great tool! For me an average DIY this made laying the mortar for block laying much easier and cleaner . Well worth the few $ it cost . Lets you control the amount of mortar laid and was quick and easy. Made the job much simpler.

Do Not Buy
Been using grout bags for years - I blew through two of these in a matter of hours with very wet mortar. The third came with a razor blade slice already in it. Cheap. Returning.

Not good at all for brick mortar
even wetting inside of bag , mortar will not flow out , have to make mortar like a soup and then a mess ensues!
