A good valve bleed option
Bought a two pack of these valves to replace ageing manual valves on two towel rail radiators. Being high in our system the two radiators needed bleeding more than any others and the bleed screws were wearing and I feared them snapping off. Our plumber recommended this type of bleed valve. The two new valves look to be of good quality, shiny chrome finish, and fitting was simple, a five minute job. No need to drain the system, I just shut off the inlet and outlet valves on each rad and swapped them out. A nice tight fit and a test showed no issues when the rad valves were opened up and the system fired up. I'll review the functionality of the valves to see if they work (ie no air build up) over the next few days/weeks and then update the review.

Awesome results
Why did I not fit these earlier? Simple and easy to install (whilst your radiator is full of air isolate at the in/outlet valves and swap the ends over). They use some sort of plumbing ‘magic’ to let the air escape but not the water and saves me a lot of bother as I was continually bleeding air that accumulates in the radiator nearest to the boiler which runs cold. Less air in the pipes and the whole system runs more efficiently!

Magic valves! How they work I cannot imagine, but they do.
Each pack has 2 valves. Slightly cheaper at time of writing than buying them individually. Fitting is easy (assuming you are happy draining a central heating system! I suppose that's a bit of a caveat!) Drain your central heating in the normal way, get a really long wrench (longer = better = more torque and less possibility of damaging or mangling the valves you are removing), and apply very gentle pressure downwards to turn existing bleed valves (at top of rad) anti-clockwise. Warning, they might be messy with black grime when you remove them. I used some kitchen roll to clean the thread on the radiator before fitting the new ones. The new ones screwed right on, no problems. Applied a little pressure to tighten but it felt very obvious even for this novice plumber! I learned about these little things from a youtube bloke called "Ultimate Handyman" - generally trust everything this guy says. I have just drained my central heating system, plumbed a Magnafilter in, and at the same time fitted these Aladdin automatic bleed valves. When I filled the system back up from empty, it took 30 seconds! Normally I'd have to half-fill, run upstairs to a radiator to bleed it, run back down to the boiler and fill some more, each time stopping to run around the house to bleed rads. (Each time, risking spluttering dirty water on our nice white walls!) These things are frigging magic. Basically, no more running, just open the tap to let water into the system, stop when it's at 1.5 bars, and boom - all the rads work to their full efficiency all the time! No more bleeding rads, ever! I have fitted them onto 7 rads so far (all from one boiler) and plan to fit another 8 on our second heating boiler when I get around to it!

Automatic bleeding valves that work...
Very pleased with these bleed valves. Noisy system due to air accumulation fitted in literally 2 minutes and working great. Very pleased.

Great little gadget
We just had our bathroom refitted, including a trendy new tall narrow radiator. It looks great, but the design of some of these, ours included, is flawed - they consist of vertical pipes with heatsink panels affixed to the front, which look great, but the pipes are only connected horizontally at the bottom and the very top, there are no horizontal pipes in between. This means that as soon as only a tiny amount of air has collected in the rad (our heating is old and we get a lot of air in the system, which collects in upstairs rads), enough to lower the water level just below the very top bar, the rad stops heating up completely, the hot water can only flow across the very bottom. Bleeding the rad and letting out what seems like a tiny amount of gas before it splutters water restores the flow across the top, and the rad heats up. So I fitted one of these, and it works perfectly, rad is now hot all the time.

Excellent product
These work well and we have them on all our upstairs radiators and towel rails which means little to no bleeding in the house. Leak free and easy to swap out with a regular bleed point, they fit well with any radiator. Multi pack is good value
