How does this product differ from Vaseline?

DIFFERENCE IN INGREDIENTS: Vaseline is 100% Petrolatum. Aquaphor is only 41% petrolatum with 'inactive ingredients' as listed "Mineral Oil, Ceresin, Lanolin Alcohol, Pantheol, Glycerin, Bisabolol". DIFFERENCE IN APPLICATION/USE: Aquaphor goes on like Vaseline but doesn't stay sticky/greasy the way Vaseline does. I use it for my eczema rashes and its moisturizing/healing properties take effect even after just one application. This helped clear up my newborn's dermatitis when alternating with the Rx antibiotic ointment, which on its own was quite drying to the skin. I apply this to baby's face if we're going out and it's cold/windy and it DOES NOT attract lint or fibers like vaseline does -- again, because aquaphor doesn't stay sticky; it 'dries' after a few minutes but leaves the skin well moisturized. Also great for chapped lips! Personally, I won't be buying Vaseline again as this product works far better for mine & my family's needs.

Is the Aquaphor Healing Ointment in the tube the same product  and as effective as the one that comes in the jar?

My dermatologist recently told me when buying creams such as these-- to always buy the ones in JARS -such as this product--and not to buy the ones in tubes. Evidently the process for putting the cream into  tubes, does lower the quality of the product. I recently purchased Aquaphor, after years of using another product, the differnence to my neck in one week is amazing!!!!!! this is truly an outstanding product

Does it help with  Psoriasis?

Yes!! I have pretty bad psoriasis on my right hand that sometimes dries, cracks and then bleeds. I'm lucky if it doesn't climb up my wrist. Aquaphor is about the only thing that will heal it up. I like to put a nice thick amount on it before bedtime and wear a glove to sleep. It takes a few days, but I can usually fight it back in this way. And bonus points: theres no after smell.

Is it for lips also

I gave up chapstick and other brands years ago and only use aquaphor on my lips. I have several little round containers that fit in my pocket and I fill them with it. I also leave one in my car.  Haven’t had a problem with my lips since I started using it. They were always dry and cracked, especially in winter. Highly recommend for and dry spots on your body.
