Perfect for newbies...and reference!

Karting interests me but I didn't know how to get involved beyond the local indoor track. This book delivers on its promise, guiding a newcomer to the sport. It provides a lot of useful information that I didn't find elsewhere.You might want to start by reading the last few sections of the book first. These describe how to find resources to get more information in your local area, and describe what to look for at a pro shop, in arranging a test drive, at an indoor kart track, and at a kart race. If, like me, you have found the many kart types and competition classes difficult to sort out, you'll find the first few sections very useful.I expect that the sections on equipment and tools will help me prioritize purchases. They also give pointers on how to economize when first starting out.

New to karting so this is a rookie review. I like the idea of picking what works for you as a driver instead of an approach that is “my way is the best/only way”.

Very informative and I found it full of great tips for someone trying to get involved in karting. Being someone who has raced karts and many other things, I wish I read it before I got involved.
