ZERO regrets. LOVE!!!
I have a Moccamaster thermal coffee machine that I LOVE! I decided to upgrade to the matching grinder while it was $100 off during Prime Days. ZERO regrets! I had a good conical burr grinder, but the Moccamaster flat burrs are far superior. It’s quieter, produces a much more even grind, and as a pleasant surprise, a noticeably better taste. Now for the naysayers who whine about having to hold the switch down for the whole grind time; did you not read the description and reviews before you bought it? I don’t understand why Moccamaster chose this either but a few seconds is just not that big a deal. Static whiners. Wait 5 minutes before you pour the grinds in your basket and problem solved.

Rock solid coffee grinder.
Technivorm did again. They took the concept of grinding coffee stripped off all the bells and whistles of modern appliances and focused on building a really really good coffee grinder. Beans in and press the button, it's dead simple to use. The grind setting will accommodate drip coffee makers, french press and even percolators. Grinding for espresso machines isn't a thing in the Technivorm universe though and if this is what you're looking for then check out the Baratza and Breville grinders. The KM5 is reasonably quiet. I say this because my previous coffee grinder was blade grinder that would wake up the entire house. The sound on the KM5 has a much lower pitch that doesn't shatter nerves. The grind quality is very consistent due to the flat steel burrs and the bean hopper holds enough beans to get me through a week of morning coffee. Build quality is excellent. The case is all metal and is surprisingly heavy coming in at 10 lbs. There's a bit of a static issue with the grounds but this issue can be resolved with a couple of drops of water over the beans in the hopper. If you want to get fancy you can get a water mister and give the beans a quick spritz and stir and that will stop the static in its tracks. (This trick works most other grinders too.)One one last thing I would comment on is the lack of color options. It would have been nice if Technivorm had the same color options as their coffee brewers. I have a Moccamaster KBGV that's midnight blue and my grinder is the most unexciting shade of white. My OCD self will be grinding on this issue every time I enter the kitchen. But then again this is actually a good problem to have. I could be drinking out of a Keurig.

No box no user’s manual
Came in an Amazon box bubble wrapped and banging around with no factory box. No user’s manual or any instructions. Cord loose. I took pictures but with new iOS I can’t figure out how to post them. Haven’t plugged it in or tried it yet but my confidence is not high. So it gets a 1 so far.

Super quality, super results
Out standing in my book, next to No Loose Grounds on the countertop, because of clever thoughtful design. Much less noise than some grinders I have owned. Worked perfectly out of the box, well packed. The flat burr grind has been the quality improvement I had always hoped for, with very uniform size and fewer fines than with conical burrs I have always used. Footprint size very compact, hefty. A very definitive correct step to get coffee to taste like you've wished. I do stuff a paper coffee filter in the glass grounds container. I've noticed paper is a real static killer, and results in the ability to pour my fresh grind immediately into a container I use for fresh grounds.

Probably wouldn't pay full price, but this seems to be a good bean grinder
We had a Cuisinart grinder for years that wore out. We love to grind fresh coffee beans for our morning coffee. We bought a Moccamaster coffee maker two years ago and looked at their coffee grinder. It is normally over $300, but it was $100 off on Prime Day—still expensive. But my husband wanted to try the brand. It is nothing like our Cuisinart. You can adjust the grind setting for espresso coffee, French press, pour-over, etc. The Cuisinart lets you set how many cups and it automatically grinds based on how strong you want your coffee. This grinder is based on 2 tablespoons of coffee grinds per 6 oz of water. You have to hold the power button to grind until you think you have enough. That is my only complaint, as we haven't yet been able to grind enough to scoop out enough for our coffee maker; you have to grind more. It is a very fast grind, second really, so not a huge deal. The coffee tastes great, and we will play with the grind size to see if it makes much of a difference in the flavor. Moccamaster has excellent customer service, this unit is warranted for 5 years and they will repair for the lifetime of the unit.

Great overall
Had many this is the best, compact quality one I’ve had. 4 stars not 5 as it is still makes noise you can hear in an early morning “wake up” home and there is still static around the glass holder where grinds gather and stick to the sides

Helps make great coffee!
Excellent coffee grinder. I just have to get used to the fact it's a little messy.

$150 max machine, look further.
The media could not be loaded. Not really worth it $320.Why?- Manual, you have no idea the exact amount.- You must hold the button to operate.- The Machine moves when you press it (see vid)- Lastly, it produces a lot electrostatic into the cup making it a mess with the coffee. This is a $150 machine max.
