Glisten Dishwasher Deodorizer

I have a Bosch dishwasher, and I'm sure that most people reading this review are reading it because they too have one of these stinky dishwashers. I seriously wish I was writing a review for that instead of the Glisten deodorizer, because that dishwasher is the worst expensive product I've ever purchased and at over $1,000.00 for it, the thing that gets stuck in my craw every time I think of it. But OK, this is about a product that would not have to exist had it not been for the stinky aforementioned dish-washing machine.Glisten Dishwasher Deodorizer works OK, unfortunately, it's no match for the stinkiness of the Bosch. Like I said, It works OK, but it's like trying to put out a house fire with a squirt bottle. Would I buy it again? Probably not, as I found that another product that works a bit better, I don't see it on my list of things to review but I believe it was made by Cascade. Anyway, I applaud the attempt to make a product to neutralize something that shouldn't have to be neutralized, but it doesn't work as well as I wish it did. Sorry.

We purchased this product to see if it would control the periodic problem of a bad smell that comes from our Bosch dishwasher. We don't have to wash dishes everyday, but normally every fourth day. Often times before the fourth day we smell this awful odor coming from inside the dishwasher when we open the door. This product is advertised as a pleasant lemon smell by hanging it in your dishwasher. We have not experienced the awful smell coming from the dishwasher since I installed the product inside, however, never have we experienced any lemon smell either. Thus I would assume at this point that the product is working to solve our problem.

Unlike the Glisten Dishwasher Cleaner which is excellent, this product is not worth purchasing. From the very first use, you could barely smell the lemon scent. Fortunately, I found a similar product by TotalFresh which is a lemon scent which lasts on and on and is 100% better than the same product by Glisten.

They do help for a while. But seem to wear out way to soon. I do like the fragrance if you like lemon

This did not work AT ALL. My dishwasher still smelled mildewy. I added a little vinegar, baking soda and lemon juice and that worked WAAAAAAAY better.

I bought Glisten Dishwasher Deodorizer & Rinse Aid in desperation! We have extremely hard water and my glasses and silverware came out of my dishwasher looking spotty, stained and thoroughly unappetizing. I had tried a few dishwasher additives, which are expensive, and nothing really worked for very long. I hung the Glisten tag in my dishwasher and from the very first wash, I could see a definite difference in my glassware and silverware. It says it lasts for up to 21 washes but I know I've used it much longer than that, and am just now noticing spots and stains again, so I will replace it. Does it make my dishwasher (and dishes) smell lemony? No, but who cares? I don't want dishes to smell like anything other than the food placed on them. I just like shiny, sparkling clean dishes, and this does the trick.

Doesn't deodorize the dishwasher like other brands do. I don't see a difference with this product in the dishwasher.Poor

Unless the one I got was missing something, this "deodorizer" is nothing but junk and a huge waste of money.It is just a cheap piece of yellow plastic, shaped like a lemon.It did not give off any scent when taken out of the package, so I thought it must be activated by the heat or water in the dishwasher.I ran a full cycle, and not only did the dishes not "sparkle", neither the dishes nor dish washer , had any kind of scent, lemon or otherwise.If you're looking for a dishwasher freshener, don't waste you money on this piece of junk; get the "Finish Dishwasher Detergent Freshener 2 Count Citrus Scent" instead. It works and just one of them lasts 3 times as long as this one is supposed to.
