Great...if you know what you're doing!
I've been dabbling with 3D printers for years and never really thought much about 3D scanning my own objects. I didn't want to have to deal with 3D sculpting to repair bad scans etc and wanted something that just works.I think Revopoint is *almost* there. Is it a perfect product, no. Is it good enough for most people, probably!I think if you're looking at scanning objects then you'll have an idea of how to use (or will quickly learn) the software side of things.I'd recommend picking up some scanning spray - this helps reduce glare on shiny objects and allows the scanner to track the geometry a little easier. It certainly helps get a cleaner results. If you're scanning things like cars then you'll almost definitely need to use the sprays.Large, flat objects were a little more difficult. There are little marker dots you can attach to help the scanner keep things aligned but I think they need to be a little bigger, or I need to practice more.I think for the price of the scanner, it's probably one of the best you can get for under £1000 if you're willing to accept that there's still going to be some work needed tidying meshes etc, though the Revo software does seem to do a pretty good job.I'd love to see some in-depth tutorials for this particular model as everything I could find online was for their smaller/older models.

Support Body Scan
The media could not be loaded. Uploading videos is limited to just one, memory and duration, so quick uploaded video of my recent project using revopoint scanner. Picked something harder, with more details to scan. To show up how good it is.On video You can clearly see I got 100% clone of it.You can see how much details are there. It is ready for 3D print or uploading to well knowing 3D programs for future unlimited edit. There is so much potential on it. For example can make it smaller or bigger, paint it after printing or paint before printing. Colourful version also available when scanning.I would give half star less for revo app on phone, it works but it is nothing compared when scanning and using it on computer. With phone it takes much time, precision and patient. Probably of memory limitation etc.3D scanner need to learn, read, test, try and repeat. It is not so easy as looks on videos and photos before buying. But when U get use to it. It is more easy to operate. Would be nice if small turntable would be included also. I need to get one later on for smaller things like Lego figures to scan. They can be printed and resell or used to play on board games or inside project etc. Limitation is imagination. So many ways to use scanner. It is not cheap, it is not for everyone. It is for people ho would take potential of it and really will use it on everyday basic. There is a lot of support for company also like forums, fb group. Where people share, teach and show how to scan better in different situation with different objects. Most interesting thing is body, face scan, large object. Take bit time, precision. But later on that effect and happiness when project is done.Overall if You know what to do with it and have plan how to use it, go for it.If don't like it is returnable within 30 days of receipt so nothing to lose.

Terrific 3D Scanner But Has a Huge Learning Curve and Is For Larger Items
I ordered this in the hopes of being able to make model images to then send to my 3D printer and make replicas of pretty much anything however once I started to have a play with this I found it was a lot harder to use and to learn the how's than I had thought. On opening, this comes with everything required to get started, I did have to download an app to my smart phone and a program onto my MacBook but they are both free and easily setup. In the package is the main scanner unit, a short tripod which can double as a hand grip, a rechargeable battery built into a handle, a phone mount section, a pivoting mount, cables for the charger and PC connection, some instructions and cotton gloves. At the base of the scanner is a regular type of tripod slide mount so this should be able to be mounted on any camera tripod as well as the parts supplied. I found the battery handle to be a great idea as then this can be used out of doors freely, also the phone mount can be added at the top to house a smart phone which can then be used to see what I'm scanning and if I'm doing it correctly.Once I had everything setup and the program installed I had a go at scanning an ornamental puppy Labrador that is in our lounge but while doing so the program kept coming up with errors with the way I was moving the scanner so I think that a turn table is a must when using these types of devices. I also found that small items were less likely to be scanned correctly so this unit is for larger items such as cars and large engineering parts. When using this with a PC or Mac there is an included cable for making the connection, the program then connects to the scanner almost immediately ready for use. If using this with a smart phone then it connects using bluetooth which again connects very quickly and seems to work without delays or lagging.I haven't had as much time as I would have liked to get to grips with using this and so far I'm yet to make a printable model as I can't get past the errors in my scanning motion. I am going to be getting myself an electric turntable which I'm sure will make things much easier. That said I did eventually manage to scan most of my Labrador before I got an error and the detail was amazing, I could clearly see all of the correct textures from the etching that makes up the fur look and the facial details were spot on including the eyes.Overall, this is a very nicely made 3D scanner and comes with a variety of good quality handles and tools to get you started with 3D scanning images for printing however, the learning curve is huge and a lot of practice is required before a printable image can be made, I also believe that a turntable is a must for using this to be able to get a smooth enough motion on the scanned object.I haven't removed any stars from this review as the errors are only due to my inexperience and not from the unit itself which really is amazing and scans in terrific detail. When I have more time I will be ordering a decent turntable and will watch some online videos to obtain some essential knowledge on using this correctly at which time I'm sure that I will be scanning many items for 3D printing.Brilliant 3D scanner for larger objects.Recommended.
