Rock solid
I attached pics of the original and the new mount. The original wasn’t terrible but I was limited to only using the edges of my desk. I know still installed the new one near the edge of my desk. It’s just a good place for it. However my desk edge that I wanted to use is too close to the wall to use the tension screw to lock down the boom arm. This desktop mount allows me to have the tension screw in an easy to access position. Now I can adjust my mic boom without the wobble and twisting of the original mount. I wish I had come across this mount sooner. I recommend using a piece of paper and a writing utensil to create a template to accurately position then pre drill holes for the install. My boom arm is made by InnoGear and it fits perfectly.

Solid! Looks, feels, and works great
Others says it's pricey, and maybe it is compared to others, but you only have to buy it once and it's way cheaper than the mic + arm you're attaching to it.

Use this once you've determined the best mounting point
Ok. Buy the Heil boom, buy this accessory. Use the silly thumb screw, desk edge clamp that comes with the boom to determine the best place to mount your boom. Once you determine that, discard the (essentially useless and now deformed) edge clamp, mount this more permanent base in it's place. This piece is simple, doesn't interfere much with your desk footprint, and allows you to adjust the tension on the boom rotation (the edge clamp doesn't). The wall thickness of the female portion of the mount and the large diameter screw holes in the base flange are a much more solid mount than the flexible, off center edge clamp things.I will mount more Heil booms on more work stations and I will surely use this mount to do it.

Very great
This mount works great with the InnoGear boom arm. The clamp mount was to small to go around the lip on my desk so I needed this mount. Very sturdy and worth the money.

Great product, solid construction, expensive.
I bought this to support a desk boom mic stand I had previously purchased, which had a clamp that attaches to the side of the desk. This solved the instability problems of that clamp. Even when torqued so tight as to bend the bolt that holds the clamp to the desk, swiveling the boom would cause the whole clamp to rotate and pull out.I drilled this into the corner and no longer have to worry about that. The inside of this mount holds the boom tight when I want it to, and lets it slide freely and smoothly when I loosen it.It's a great product but a bit expensive for what it is. If this were half the cost I wouldn't have waited 6 months to buy it. It took my clamp mount continually bending and turning to finally convince me that this price was worth not being annoyed any longer.

Not just for Heil mic booms! A little expensive, but worth it
I have a Heil boom arm for a microphone at my desk. I also have a magnifying lamp that has two fluorescent bulbs and a 4x6 magnifying lens and the lamp uses the exact same boom arm mechanism as the mic boom; the difference is the mic mount post vs the lamp... and the mount. The lamp came with an inexpensive clamp-on mount that relied on a rubber bushing to provide a little friction so the lamp would tend to stay put where you put it. Well, the weight of the lamp puts far too much sideways force on the post that goes into that rubber bushing, and the bushing soon wore out. Moving the lamp around always makes me think the thing is about to give out completely. So I bought one of these Heil mounts and screwed it to the desk top (actually to a shelf that's about a foot off of the desk). As you can see, there is no rubber bushing here. This mount has a precision-made brass insert that accepts the post from the mic boom arm - or from the lamp. It's a very nice fit, no rubber bushing needed.Yes, it's true: if I decide to move where the lamp is mounted I'll have small three holes in my shelf. By the way I got some brass #10x1.25in. wood screws to replace the black ones that came with the mount; they look very nice with the black paint, the mount's brass bushing, and the cherry veneer on the desk. If I ever move the mount I'll probably just countersink the holes and fill them with the same wood screws, flush with the surface.Meanwhile the clamp-on mount that came with the Heil mic boom

Works perfectly
Easy to mount and it allowed me to take my mic extension arm off of clamp on keyboard tray and put the whole rig on my desk. I use it everyday!

Buena calidad pero costoso
Lo instale y le puse un brazo tonor t90, funciona todo correctamente y los materiales se ven de muy buena calidad, lo unico malo es el precio que a mi parecer es un poco costoso.
