Kärcher 2.642.706.0 Splash Guard, Transparent

Right ! Normally I have been wearing wellies, waterproof trousers, waterproof jacket and goggles when doing my block paving. After having bought this gizmo, I did it in wellies, jeans and a white t shirt, clean as a whistle ! Ok so it cut down the splashing by 99% , which is what it says on the tin. I will post a warning though, I haven't as yet figured out how to separate neither the guard from the grey attachment, nor the grey attachment from the dirt blaster , and this is probably due to me having small weak hands. I just can't get a grip on the grey bit, tried using the vice to hold it.Apart from that, I'm telling the world how good it is.Only four stars due to the disconnect problem.

I have a rotary patio cleaner, but it takes too long and doesn't get the stubborn stuff out, so I bought this to keep the mess level down when tackling those stubborn areas. It needs the rotary nozzle fitted, not the fixed nozzle (took me a little time to work that out - the instructions are very minimal) Once I found the right attachment, it was easy, the nozzle clicks into the guard and it's ready to go. Getting the guard off is more involved, but I just leave it on during springtime when I'm spending the odd hour here and there cleaning up around the pool and pathways.

Works really well when I attached it to the dirt blaster lance of my k4 eco. Stopped me getting dirty when I cleaned the path and driveway. Clicks into place easily and securely. Never came off and never felt like coming off once. Was still easy enough to take off when I needed to. I'm surprised I've not seen it before and that it isn't sold with pressure washers.

You will need an appropriate Karcher - we recently bought the K4. Use the yellow attachment on the guard for the variable lance and the grey attachment for the dirt blaster lance. These are relatively easy to attach. The hard bit is manipulating the lance into the guard - but worth it & is easy to remove. Go for the vari lance first with Stone Cleaner solution. Set the vari lance to Level 1 to spray solution on the drive/ pathway/ wall then rack the lance up to 3 and you're in control - driveway cleaned without getting covered. Did the job in half the time and with a better result. For the difficult bits revisit & use the dirt blaster lance.

Does the job well, but connecting and unconnecting the Splash Guard to the Lance is problematical to put on you have to be forceful to push down to the stop marks, there is knack to removing grab hold of the connector (not the splash guard) and turn anti-clock wise.

Excellent product. How did I manage without it - well I didn’t- I just ended up soaked from spray etc!(Using a K4 with it)It makes a terrific difference, vastly reduced spray.From other reviews I was concerned as to how easy it was to use - but I found it very straightforward- fit the correct collar for the lance type (twist click) then push to the lance into the collar & click.Highly recommended!

Make a splash investment in this item and you won't splash all over the place again.I spent a few hours spray-cleaning half of my driveway before purchasing this and I looked like I'd been dragged through a hedge backwards. Seriously, I was finding dirt in places that seemed impossible to reach - yes, even there!With this fitted to my trusty Karcher K4, however, I could have dressed in my Holy Communion outfit and been as clean as a whistle. (For those wondering, at my Holy Communion I was dressed in white shorts, yes SHORTS, and pleated white shirt with white patent shoes, a contrasting navy dickey bow and navy and white striped socks! Don't worry, still in therapy).So buy this item and you too can dress up like a pious French sailor and still have a clean driveway.

No more dripping from head to foot when washing my patio - bought a cheap head fixture(not Karcher) and it was awful as in doesn't work full stop! Found this and bingo it does exactly what it says - smaller area cleaned as the head is smaller but works a treat
