Enhanced my oak kitchen worktops
I got so fed up putting oil on my real oak worktops & they also had ring marks & other stains etc which looked unsightly in my lovely kitchen. I did some on line research & discovered that with good preparation of the wood I could use the varnish. So I set too & sanded the largest worktop which also houses the sink & draining board which took the old oil off & removed all the stains. Once I wiped the dust off the wood & making sure it was dry I added 3 layers of the varnish. I’m so pleased with the results as the worktop looks new. I shall also do the other ones I’m so impressed with the finish. I won’t go back to oil. The varnish dried quickly too.

Great product and lovely finish.
I've used this on oak doors, skirting and bannister. It's great, providing 3 + coats are used for strength. My two dogs haven't decimated it with scratches yet when I get home.Much better colour using a brush rather than a sponge. Paid a decorator to varnish my doors, and had to redo it myself as he used a sponge for 3 coats. Can't fault the product and have used it previously on other doors throughout my home.I get 2.5 doors completed with 3 coats to one tin. Using a brush. It also darkens over time.

What you see IS what you get!
After receiving this item and reading previous reviews, I was anxious to see what this tin would hold in store for me...As you can see by the photos, the liquid in the tin was in fact grey like another review mentioned and before mixing had some oil sat on the top. However after giving this a good mix up, the oil seemed to disappear and I was left with a nice smooth mix of varnish.I applied a thin layer to a piece of whitewood with a lint free rag and as you can see from the photo, it gives its a nice "medium oak" finish... You can always apply more layers if you require a darker finish. This is very quick drying and not a problem for a smaller project however I think if you were covering a larger area, you could find yourself layering up without noticing.A little goes a long way so this tin is great value for money! Would recommend to anyone looking for a medium oak finish - Just like it says on the tin!

Does what it says on the Tin
When I first opened the tin I thought that I had been sent a tin of grey paint but because it was Ronseal I tried it on a piece of wood, as I brushed it on the colour of the wood changed to medium oak amazing. did all of my Kitchen chairs they look great.

Good Job
Job done, however had to work the varnish to get an even coat.

Does exactly what it says on the tin
As you can tell in the pictures, our old table looked too shabby, I had it stripped from a professional, who gave it back bare and fresh, using the varnish I gave it 2 coats, then used steel wool to lighten and soften the surface then a final coat, please be aware that when you open the tin the varnish may look like grey paint but that’s how it’s meant to be I guess, now look at the table, a stunner!
