This is a great "try it" kit for people interested in candle making. I ordered this for my classroom to explore candle making and was pleased with the purchase.We had additional dye, fragrance and containers on hand for the project, but the kit itself came with two bags of wax, wicks (and wick centering sticks) and wick stickers. Everything was well organized/packaged and easy to use.The wax melted down really well and our dyes worked well with the wax. However, it did have a stronger smell than expected and we used more fragrance oil than I anticipated in trying to overcome the smell. No one complained when they burned the candles (in fact, the students got lots of compliments) so I'm assuming we compensated accordingly.

I purchased this wax to be able to make candles. It melts well and the oils and colors blend well with the wax. It is a great wax for pour candles. It also came with 100 candle wicks and wick stickers.

A nice kit for the price, I just ordered a similar kit a few months ago from a known brand with similar items and this is currently priced at almost half the cost. The soy wax is in 2 resealable baggies and is larger chunks/ shavings with this one. The soy odor is STRONG with this wax, much more than the other, which means having to use more fragrance to overcome the “KFC smell”, and when burning, I still get a hint of that in the candle with this wax. The wax performed the same, melted well and there was no off colors or debris.The wicks are 4”, instead of 6” and some of these had rust on the metal bottoms, but the few that I used were tightly crimped and the wicks did not detach from the base. The wick stickers are much larger than the wick base and stick very firmly to the glass, but I did tear one trying to scootch it over a bit, better at sticking than repositioning. The wick holders are stick’s, and plentiful, but they just brace the wicks and there is no locking the wick to keep it stable when pouring, so you have to be sure to pour the proper temp wax slowly with these. They were good for an oval glass that I had since the sticks are longer and have more holes than the typical metal ones, allowing a double wick placement.It’s a good set, especially for a beginner or a one time try if you can get past the strong soy odor in this wax (or like the smell of greasy fried chicken) and are not going to save the parts for future candle making.

Nice for a starter or project kit

Large amount of wax and plenty of additional pieces to help make a full candle kit. Girlfriend was very happy with it. Well packaged too, so it would be good as a gift.

This wax is fantastic. Nice and creamy, and melts down beautifully. Package came with two 2.5 lb bags of wax flakes, a pack of wicks and wick holders, and wick stickers. Almost everything you would need to make some candles. I'm a big fan of soy wax, and this did not dissapoint!

I had never made candles before - this was great at introducing me to it! These bags can be melted down to make two jars or many smaller "votive" type candles. I would recommend getting a separate pan from your normal cooking pans as the wax can be harder to clean and if using oils you don't want that to get into your normal cook wear. I also added some shimmer to the wax and it worked quite well. I like that you can add any essential oil you want and create a good scent. I thought the wax smell alone smelled like "wax". Not to powerful but you need to add enough oil to overcome it.Really cool kit for trying this out and having a new project to work on!

I've been wanting to try candlemaking for awhile now, have been doing some research on it off and on, and learned that soy is the better option. Also realized that nearly all the candles I've purchased/received in the past have been soy or soy blend, so I thought this was a good wax to try. I like that they split it into two bags, more convenient that way. The flakes are fluffy, they don't stick together in the bag. I like this style of centering devices, I think they're better than some others I've seen that are a bit flimsy metal with fewer options for placing the wick (i.e. you can make a candle with 2 or 3 wicks with this type of device). Would be a good set for a beginner or an experienced candle maker. Very happy to have found this!
