Timex Clock Easy Set Up
Fits very nicely on my shelf. What I really like is that the set up is easy AND there is no blaring lit-up digital in your face at night. Just reach out and hit the extra long button on the top! The temperature sensor and large time display is a big plus and that it runs on batteries. Nice, sturdy, and compact clock that would fit in any small space. Shipment arrived quickly.

It seems to be holding the correct time.
Update 8/13/2024 - Clock's original batteries are still working so it's lived up to our expectations. We haven't had any issues with it and it has kept the time well; I just had to adjust it for it being off by 1 minute ... just did it because it is easy to do! If nothing has changed with this since we bought it I definitely would recommend this! We upgraded our cable box to come into the 21st century and the new boxes no longer have a clock on them; we tried living without a clock but in a week or two the clock was missed. I looked around for a clock that could run on USB power and wasn't really coming up with anything and the ones I saw either people said they were too bright, had a blinking colon between hours and minutes and/or only lit when touched, we wanted none of that. We tried this and so far, about a month, it seems OK. It has a constant on display of black numbers and letters and white background. When it senses that it's somewhat dark the backlight turns on with a soft glow - this is exactly what we wanted. If you touch the top bar the background brightens up (this is something we don't use but it does get much brighter). We can read the clock at about 8 or 9 feet away and its not too bright being under our TV. For our use I think the backlight is on constantly but not 100% sure about that so I'm expecting the batteries may need to be replaced sooner (6 months?) than if the clock turned off the backlight during the day. It is keeping it's time fine which was something I was wondering about.

Timex clock and indoor thermometer.
I'd have preferred this with a cord and a brighter light behind it but I do like it. Very easy to set up. This has died 3 months after I bought it. Changed batteries twice. It doesn't work anymore. .

Big and Bright
I like the size, easy to read in daylight. But it is too bright to use as a bedside alarm clock. Press the snooze button and burn out your retinas. Good for a desk clock, terrible as an alarm clock.

Great display. Handy. Easy access light sensor, can control
I really like the large display on this Timex battery operated clock. Each one of the settings you can see easily. What I really like about this clock is that the light sensor is on top of the clock right on the snooze button. I have found with these types of clocks that if you have any kind of light even the slightest amount in the room that the sensor will not let the ambient clock light display, so that you can see the time. But with this having the light sensor on the very top it allowed me to just turn on the sensor on the back and then put a small light piece of paper on top of the sensor across that snooze button and the light sensor will be triggered and it will come on and you can use that display all night without really affecting the battery. The display is easily seen at night /bedside. Easy little trick but this is the first battery clock that has had the sensor where I can actually see it and use that little trick to control it. Helpful in a kids room that has a nightlight or light coming from a hall . Only thing you want to remember is when this feature not needed, remove that little card/paper that you put on top to disable the clock's ambient light sensor and also turn off the button on the back when that sensor is not needed. I have bought many different kinds of these clocks over the years and the one disappointment that I had was on the light sensor on these others clocks. I consider this a great little clock.
