Great for any age
My husband loved these books as a kid, so I bought it to add to our library. It says it is for ages 9-11, but really it can be funny for any age. It is a book of short stories about William and all the trouble he manages to get into. It would be great for bedtime stories. Or it would be nice to read during a family vacation. It is funny and light-hearted, and everyone can enjoy.

Lovely book
After a long time I have read a "William book". This is a really funny book about the anarchist William Brown. We are introduced to "Joan" - the girl-next-door who he wants to marry when he grows up and other young beauties of his age. We also find out about his group of partners-in-arms -- "The Outlaws". We also find out about his first crush on his teacher and how he becomes disillusioned as his dad says she has "feet of clay". (William who can argue anything to death has much to say about that also!!!). All in all a good read and I enjoyed it. Will re-read it one day as well. I encourage others to buy it as well.

Review on Just William's
After a lot of review I finally purchased the book for my son (11yrs). Its a fantastic read. The cover looks quiet attractive.Cons: the inside paper quality is quiet poor for the cost of the book.More colored illustrations were expected for imagination to fly and inspire kids while reading. The illustrations are just hand rendered and very less in numbers.

Hilariously funny
Incredibly funny, the book still holds its charm and hilarity despite having been penned nearly half a century ago.

Un clásico del libro infantil
Es un placer leer en versión original uno de los libros de tu infancia. Las ilustraciones desmerecen mucho respecto a las de los libros de la editorial Molino.

A forgotten gem
I read Richmal Crompton's William books throughout my childhood.Although the subject matter may suggest that they are children's books, they are much more than that - the subtle humour and sly digs at the society of the time when they were written, make them very enjoyable reading for any parent. There's a simple story behind each episode, so they also make ideal bedtime stories for the children. You won't find anything 'awkward', either. And for you younger people, Good Omens is based on concepts from Just William. Pratchett was brought up with William books, too.Read it on the train the other day, and frightened the other passengers by laughing out loud.

Very Funny and Nostalgic
I was really looking for the Jennings & Darbishire books written by the same author but these do not seem to be available on the kindle. William is a lesser subject, yet, this book is still funny and nostalgic of the days of my youth. The situations and environment for William is a good interpretation of the mind of young boys at that time in history. The views and attitudes of adults take second place and are accurately portrayed through the mind of boyish considerations. This read comes highly recommended to young old and old alike. Youngsters will get an insight in a time when growing up held its own excitement for a developing mind rather than be forced to succumb to the modern day pressure to grow up quick and mentally conform. Older readers will find it nostalgic bring back fond memories. Most will find it very funny and a excellent good read.
