Texet12L Cross Cut Shredder

I did plenty of research to try and find a replacement for my 20-year-old Fellows shredder which eventually gave up the ghost. All seem to have similar capabilities at these type of prices so I opted for a this Texet cross shredder that would take 2-3 sheets at a time.Simply plug it in, slide the selector to on and feed in the sheets - all the residual shredded paper is collected in a small container - just as well as the shreds are fairly small and it will fill up fairly quickly - when it does, it will automatically shut off.I should also point out, as per other reviews, that after a few minutes of constant use it will switch off as it gets too hot - so not meant for bulk shredding. You then have to wait 15-20 minutes before it can be used again. If you keep on top of your shredding, little and often, then this will not be a problem.Overall I am very pleased with this, but as it has a common flaw (common with other shredders I have read about), I cannot give it a top score.

bought this to replace texet i have had for many years. It does the job, would not put 6 sheets in, 4 was a struggle. cards went through ok. It does not "chain feed" compared to my old one so needs a bit of patience. it gets hot pretty quick too and will just stopOnly thing missing on this was the forward position i had on my last oneoverall, it will do the job

My old shredder was a nightmare and broke down. I carefully checked the reviews as I needed a new shredder.It was a nightmare as my shredding had piled up over several months. I decided to purchase this shredder andso glad I bought it. It is lightweight and easy to store. The best thing about it is the shredding. It shreds the paperinto confetti like pieces which was excellent. My old shredder was shredded into long bits and I thought it was notprivate enough you could still make out names ect. So this shredder is excellent. Another great feature is the littlewindow in the bin. You can see the paper being shredded. It didn't take long to work through my backlog. So glad Igot this shredder couldn't be without it.

This is a great, cheap home office shredder... And the motor has a duty cycle of two minute shredding, followed by 30 minutes rest time. And you're not supposed to shred more than six normal-thickness sheets of A4 at once. Don't use this for a huge stack of papers, is what I'm saying. With that said, I want it for shredding the occasional receipts and financial documents, so it works for me. Sometimes with half-hour wait in between.

This seems to be a good buy. I have not used it too much but it has a 2 mins on, 30 mins off cycle so I have been trying to race the clock and get as many pieces of paper through as I can in 2 minutes. That said 2 minutes worth is just a little too long for the bin part of this shredder to cope. I found that if I am not watching the bin gets full up and the shredded paper then gets caught up in the shredder teeth.

Do not try this in reverse. It shreds lovely in the forward motion but unfortunately it seizes up when switched to reverse. This reverse switching is according to the instructions that came with the machine. It is in fact supposed to clear the shredded paper. Mine does not do this! However once again it suits the purpose of getting rid of those SECRET PAPERS that I don't want others to read.Only my address but nothing sinister is contained on or in my papers/

It is a but noisy but I don't find that a problem at all.Small enough to tuck out of the way. All in all a good product for the price. An afterthought, I have order 1 of Fellowes Shredder Bags of (23-28 litres - pack of 100 sheets to keep the blades clean and sharp as it sound a lot batter after that.
