Exactly what I was looking for! If you'd watch Ponyo and you have a toddler that really wants to know how that boat works with fire, this is the product to get! Both of my kids love watching this boat pop pop along. The supplies and directions that come with a boat is nothing special but it's all you need which is perfect. Simplicity is best sometimes.

Poor quality. Did not work like the one I had when I was a child, many years ago. Never worked properly. I've purchased many things from Amazon over the years and this boat and a toy car I bought for Christmas 2024 are the only things that I found to be unsatisfactory.

For the money it’s hard to beat this little guy. It is very poorly constructed out of thin tin. It comes with two little candles and they don’t last very long. Once we dialed in how to use it the boat popped and moved quickly through the water. It’s a fun little boat but keep in mind it’s not built to last forever.

Smaller than what I imagined, but works very nicely, for as long as the candle last, which is not very long since there are only two miniature candles included, and each one burns for less that five minutes. It may be possible to take shavings from a real candle and use it to power this boat, but I haven't tried.

If you are having trouble lighting the candle or keeping the flame on inside the boat, just scoop out the wax from the holder and place tiny pellets of camphor or camphor powder. Use tiny amounts to not create big flames. This will not only ensure the flame stays on but also start the boat instantly. Plus its quite inexpensive to use camphor than to buying replacement candles which are often more expensive than the boat itself. Its also easier to keep replenishing the camphor fuel without having to stop the boat unlike using a candle. The boat worked flawlessly and brought back my childhood memories.

It works! The boat is made from scrap sheetmetal - the insidde is printed with beverage company logos, there are some sharp edges. It was priced right for what it is.

This something similar I used to play with when I was young, I wanted to teach my kids about steam and all. But the water filler bulb had a hole so couldn't use it, I ended up using kids extra Tylenol syringe to fill up water. Instructions stated give it quite some time, by their recommended time one of the candle was burned out already, used second candle still didn't work. I started the process to return but they needed original package that came with, and additional package costed me more money and time with 3 kids under 4 to care. So I took the L. Wouldn't recommended to anyone.

Great quality boat but not enough room for a candle. It comes with something that looks like a candle but disappears within a minute due to its own heat. In the old days we used oil with a thick thread and that worked fine

I did get it to work very well for a short period of time however unfortunately the design does not allow for any candle other than the 2 very small supplied candles to fit under the boiler. This rendered it unless in a very short period of time. To be honest the supplied candles were not great to begin with the wicks where too flimsy and kept falling into the molten wax and going out.
