Right now, I'm building a spots card collection - a personal collection, and one with cards that I plan to sell. The Cardboard Profit: The Strategic Playbook for Making Money with Sports Cards is an easy read that has provided me with much information on how to sell cards for profit. The information was easy to understand and I'm looking forward to putting my new found knowledge into practice.

This book is a great read for people investing in and selling sports cards! He gives so many great tips!His chapter “Grading Sports Cards” is excellent!A must read for the sports card investor!

Similar to the author, I have leveraged sport card trading as a side hustle for 20 years now so I'm usually very hesitant to invest in any books on the topic because my experience with similar books tells me there's little left to learn. I was pleasantly surprised with this one - the amount of time and attention the author has spent in the world of sport card trading is evident throughout the book. It doesn't matter if you know nothing about the topic or have a lot of experience like me - if you want to learn how to make money in the world of sport card trading, this is the place to start. Great read!!

Ryan wrote this book for people who are trying to learn the card world. Not only does this book teach you how to buy and sell. But it gives you the knowledge to be successful later in your sports card selling career. I had the chance to speak to Ryan personally and he’s a great guy. I liked the book but hoped it would be more useful. It might be better titled Sportscard Prospecting. The focus (prospecting) is really only a very small segment of how and what to sell on ebay. The advice I think is good but if you're not all over the statistics, analysis, and branding of athletes in college or the minor leagues then this book's focus is not for you. Still, it's worth a read for some general understanding.

I decided to get back into sports cards after about 25 years. WOW had things changed from my youth. There were what felt like 1000 new products and variations. It was a bit overwhelming to be honest. By chance I went into my local card shop and bought a pack and hit a big baseball prospect auto. I had no idea what to do. Long story short I invested in a very expensive card investment program to teach me all the new things and it wasn't what I was hoping for. Shortly after that program. I came across Cardboard Profits book via Instagram advertising and skeptically decided to buy. I was blown away! I was shocked that all the info that I received in the sports card investment program was all in this book for about $20. I read through the book and decided to let my 10 year read it and it clicked for him. Since reading I've made some great investment decisions (Buying the right product, Timing the Market, Grading the right cards) My 10 year old was able to buy a card for $30 grade for $20 and sold it for about $150I highly recommend! You won't regret it. The author Ryan Sever puts out amazing content on Instagram too.

I picked up this book to learn the basics of collecting and trading and couldn't be happier. I'm a big sports fan, so I figured dipping my toe into card trading would make sense and I'm always looking for passive income. The author does a great job setting the stage and making it clear that the strategies outlined in the book are designed to make money. My favorite part of the book was the section about "Low Effort Strategies", mostly because I don't have a ton of extra time to put into this and my goal is to make a little side income without a ton of effort. I'd recommend this book to anyone looking to get into the space and there are definitely great insights for more seasoned traders, as well.
