Useful when doing our crosswords. We’ve had this book before but it got dogeared and we needed to replace it

This is a replacement for my hard cover copy which is falling apart. I regretted not purchasing a hard cover copy. The soft cover meant that the binding had to be tight, so it's difficult to keep the page open when you are filling a crossword at the same time. The fonts are smaller as compared to the hard cover version.

This book is absolutely invaluable if you do alot of puzzles or crosswords. This is the 4th time I've bought an updated copy but you could easily just stick to one copy, I just update because I use it so much, it gets 'tatty'. Also useful if you can't quite think of the word you want but you know what you want to say.

I admit I am a crossword addict and can't be bothered to "cheat" (as my husband calls it) in other ways e.g. by going on the computer so grabbing for this book helps me complete the daily crossword. But is it really cheating? I learn new words and strategies for completing other crosswords more effectively. Yes you've probably guessed - I am a retired teacher!

I bought this for my grandma as she had a very old edition she used for eons which was falling to pieces!She is very pleased with it.

A useful tool for crossword solving. Perhaps not as fully comprehensive as it could be. Hence four stars.

About as good as such a book can be without being huge
