Good graphics and lovely story

We had taken this book out at the library and my daughter enjoyed it so much I bought her her own copy. A lovely book about two strangers building a father/child relationship.

Great book, both my kids loved it. Suitable for 2/3yo no problem.

My son and I love Simon James' books and have read this one many times already. It is a really endearing story which gave rise to discussions about families and how they can be different. The illustrations are beautifully done as ever and compliment the text perfectly.

My twin daughters love dinosaurs and this book is lovely. Not a scary book so perfect for bedtime. The only problem is that the dinosaurs are inaccurate (as pointed out by my 3 year olds!). Stegosaurus and triceratops featuring as meat eaters. They weren't impressed with the dinosaur putting his feet in lava either (naughty dinosaur get burnt). Other than that it's lovel.

A lovely touching story, great pictures. Rory (age 6) and I enjoyed this book immensely. One of your best Mr James!

After a few clunkers Simon James has "come back from the dead" with this one. It is his best effort since Baby Brains and very much worth adding to your read aloud collection.
