Great book for a child who just got a hamster . Has all the information you need to care for a hamster . Its not a big book but I like that aspect as its more geared to an older child and they can use it as a reference .

My 2nd grade daughter refers to this book when caring for her hamster. Great pictures, with enough to be informative, but not too wordy.

This nonfiction book is perfect for my 6 year old to read through when learning how to care for her new hamster. She recieved it as a holiday gift along with basic hamster supplies. She used the book to learn about hamsters before we got her pet and as a reference while caring for her. It's a great resource for any young hamster owner and has pages balanced with lots of colorful pictures and words. There are pages on hamster varieties, choosing hamsters, feeding it and setting up its home along with other relevant topics.

Technically the book was for my niece, but we both read it together and it was a real bonding moment for the both of us. My is niece is thirteen years old now and a teenager, so that means she's a little hard to get along with but using a book full of pictures of cute hamsters and fun facts about hamsters made her act like a little girl again and for a little while it was like the old days. Loved this book and recommend it to anyone that needs to know anything about hamsters.

Interesting information.

This is NOT a book for children, nor is it a good book for adults. Why was I so compelled to warn people not to waste money? 1 - It is NOT a children's book. It is poorly written, complicated and overly sophisticated vocabulary. I am college educated and I didn't understand some paragraphs. 2 - The font type is incredibly small!! I got this for my 7 year old and she cannot read it. I don't yet have reading glasses but this made me want to get some - or a magnifying glass. 3 - Ill conceived. Not sure how to say it but I'm so annoyed. I LOVE animals and I love reading and learning about different breeds (I'm super into horses and dogs) well, what kind of book or publisher would write a whole paragraph describing the '4' different breeds of hamsters and NOT put a picture of that breed next to the description. Oh sure they describe it and if you flip around the book and read all the labels of the pictures you can see them. But seriously, that's just plain stupid. There are WAY better books out there. PLEASE don't waste your money on this one. Really good book on hamster care for a child!

Really good photos and guidance For buying and looking after a hamster. Bought it for my 9 year old before we bought a hamster to show him his upcoming responsibilities, worked a treat! We didn't buy a hamster after reading the book.

Limited information but good for younger kids as an intro to hamsters.

Lovely little book for my 9 year old who just got his first ever pet - a dwarf hamster. All the main points are covered.

Read immediately upon receipt. Informative but would like a bit more info. on care as I have since found out that there is still a lot to know, especially when they become ill. I suppose you can't know it all.
