Great Bottle Capper
After doing my first batch of beer with an old hand capper and breaking a few of the necks I decided to buy a bench capper to avoid breaking any more bottles and wasting precious beer. Now after doing my first 32 bottle batch with this capper and no breakages I thought I would leave my review and tips.Screw it down to a work bench or a large wooden base, this makes it much more stable and easier to use.It can be hard getting the bottle out of the crimping cup after capping, I followed advice of some previous reviews and put a little vaseline inside the cup, it was a lot easier to get them out.Put oil on the release pin and on the shaft and adjusting the height for different bottles will be a breeze, without this it is stiff to move up and down. I used bike chain oil but any oil will do.I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new capper or thinking of ditching the hand held capper.

Excellent
Don't bother buying any other bottle top capper.I originally bought the pliers type capper - maybe they are good for some bottles but certainly not for the bottles I had. This capper however is good for any bottles and so easy to use. You could start a factory with this thing - it is easy and quick.I secured it to a bench using 2 screw and it was good to go.Delivery time excellent - 24 hours.

Did the job
A simple design & seems well built - did my first 40 bottles so can't complain.I was using a variety of 330ml and 500ml bottles with a bag of Kilner caps. One tip though is to keep checking / adjusting the height if your bottles are different. Don't make the mistake I did and try break the thing in half on a smaller bottle - you don't need a massive amount of pressure to push the cap on.

Really easy to Use
when I tested the product I didn't actually cap the bottle correctly. but when it came to doing it for real I put more weight behind it and felt / heard the cap close fully. I wasn't sure when I then removed the capped bottle if I was going to pull the cap back off as it felt stuck but a bit of a wriggle and it comes out with no problem. I placed the capped on top of a plactic cutting board so it wasn't secured to the surface and had no problems.

Works well - ergonomics could be improved
I've bolted this to a steel table for capping 500ml beer bottles. The capper works well - firm, positive feedback so you know when the crown is crimped on properly. The magnet holds the cap in position firmly enough to avoid any dropped caps. I do up to 800 a day on bottling days and by mid afternoon I'm cursing the thin grip on the handle - if this had been made thicker and less ridged my aging hands might be in better shape!

Solid and reliable
This bottle capper works very reliably. It is solid and looks as if it will last well.

A good purchase for peace of mind on beer capping
Just arrived and tested the capper on some standard 26mm caps and beer bottles. Produces a nice click when the cap goes on the beer bottle giving confidence it has sealed. Pretty straightforward to adjust the height for different beer bottles. Has two pre-drilled holes in the base so can be fixed to a bench/counter quickly. Will need to think about whether that is needed or not.

Prior quality nott fir for purpose- happy to demo nin video
Perhaps mine is faulty- didn't get round to using it straight away as I'd had a borrowed one but I've been unable to cap a single bottle as all caps get stuck and won't close around the bottle... every single time- its going in the bin
