Individual preference
This was ordered for our boarder collie who was recovering from a leg op and refusing to drink as much as she normally does. Resulting in her becoming dehydrated. The powder dissolved well in water. Unfortunately our dog is quite fussy (she only likes cold and fresh water in her bowl... but will happily drink from a puddle or lake) and was suspicious of the water. I'm not sure if it had a smell or taste she didn't like, but we couldn't convince her to try it. My in-laws collie had no issues and has been happily having it in his drink for some time. It's hard to tell if it's helping with energy and hydration as there is very little change in him. He does seem to be drinking more than usual though, which is a bonus.

Excellent hydration supplement
Excellent hydration supplement, I'm involved in a high intensity, high repetition dog sport and have found this supplement excellent for hydration between races.Very easy to make up and our team dogs are happy to drink this instead of normal water. It's really soluble and easy to mix in and you don't need to use warm water to get it to dissolve like a lot of hydration supplements.I think it has made a difference to recovery times for the dogs and performance levels when there is a bit of a gap between races. I look forward to trying this in warmer weather too when it will be especially useful.

Quite difficult to dissolve
This suppliment arrives as 200g weight of a white powder, it arrives in a resealable pouch with over 2 years till the best before date.I ordered this supplement to put in the dog first aid box as something to give to them if they had been ill and needed a bit of pick me up, rather than a daily addition, but having read the packaging I felt it may be more beneficial to them to use it daily after exercise, so I've been doing that to give it a fair test.I usually give them water after exercising, when we return to the car, and they have this water from a dog drinking bottle. The obvious solution was to use their bottle to shake the powder up with the water, and give it to them straight from the bottle. They seem to be happy enough to drink the water, but I've noticed that the powder doesn't dissolve very easily, so I'm not certain how much they are actually getting. As far as an improvement in their physical wellbeing goes, they are healthy and didn't seem to be struggling after exercise prior to starting using it. So as this was always going to be more of a preventative than a cure, and it doesn't seem to have affected them either positively or negatively.Overall it seems like it would be a good thing to keep in if your dog is in danger of dehydrating, or regularly does very heavy exercise, but for an average, healthy dog I think it's maybe not necessary.

Boosting canine hydration
Ensuring my dog stays hydrated, especially during active days, has always been a concern. This hydration supplement has been a game-changer. It's not just the ease of use but the visible difference in my dog's energy and performance. The chicken flavor is an added bonus, making hydration something my dog looks forward to. It's comforting to know that I'm providing not just any supplement, but one that truly caters to my dog's needs.

Far too expensive - plus no such thing as a superfood!
My dog is 27kg and on average we cover around 120 miles a week. Hydration is vital, especially in milder and warm weather. The RDA of this product is 2 tablespoons. A tablespoon is 15g. There is no taking into account a dogs size, which seems like an oversight to me.So, at 30 grams a day, a single packet of Fresh-K9 would last a week (well, just under). At close to £38 a pack, thats unaffordable unless for the odd occasion. If you have a working dog or a highly active sports dog, then this is simply out of the reach financially (for most people). My dog isnt a big drinker (hates water i carry, and would rather drink from a hoof imprint in the ground) and i cant say he was all that enthusiastic about this. Ive only used it once (im going to hang on until the summer to use the rest as i cant justify the cost of buying another packet) and he wouldnt finish it.In terms of preparation i found it really hard to dissolve. I ended up using a whisk as no amount of bottle shaking worked. Didnt smell of anything, which i wasnt expecting. Perhaps if it was more chickeny my dog may have been more interested. My other issue with this is the marketing - on the front is ' ALL-NATURAL INGREDIENT, SUPERFOOD SUPPORT'. Firstly, im not really sure what they mean - the ingredients are very basic; fat, salt and various sugars. Electrolytes and energy drinks arent complicated. There is nothing ground breaking or unusual. Superfoods is also a marketing term i hate. There is no such thing - no scientific nor legal classification. This also contains soy protein. Im not a fan of dogs consuming soy - its a reasonably common allergen and there are far better sources of energy out there. Soy just tends to be cheaper. All in all, not a product i would use again. I just cant see how they can justify the price tag.
