Powersmith Makes the Best Pellet Stove Vacuum on the Market, bar none.
Powersmith is known for small, well-built vacuum products, and this one is no exception. We installed a pellet stove for heat in our camp, and looked for a good smaller METAL vacuum cleaner to help with the cleaning of fly ash from the unit, and lager ash deposits that tend to build up around the ash bucket. Have used this about a dozen times now, over the 2024/2025 heating season and it worked perfectly. No ash floating around, and a metal storage in case a hot ember is sucked in accidently. It comes with everything you need but the heat resistant gloves needed for pellet stove cleaning. Long hose so the unit can be located away from the stove, a selection of nice attachments for all aspects of cleaning. It was the perfect one-size fits solution. It's small size shouldn't fool you, lots of power to suck up lots of ash piles from just about anywhere. Best part is that it collects everything dislodged when a brush is used to clear near the nozzle. Maybe the best pellet stove vacuum on the market, great price for what it gives you, a solid ash clean-up solution

Good for small jobs like a pellet stove.
Never owned one of these before. I had no idea what to expect. A little under-whelming suction power wise. Like a house vacuum. Not at all like a shop vac (which is what I was hoping for). The small diameter hose is a big drawback for me. If you are trying to vacuum wet/damp ashes or chunks of wood the hose will clog easily. The motor runs very hot. As soon as you turn it on, you can feel the exhaust start heating up and getting hot before you even start vacuuming. Once you start vacuuming for a little while (about 10 minutes) the vacuum will shut off because it is over heated. It overheats and shuts off very rapidly within 1 - 2 minutes if the hose gets clogged. Once it's overheated, you have to wait quite a while (about 30 minutes) for it to cool back down enough to turn on again. Best to disassemble and clean to get more air to the motor if this happens. It's like the motor is air cooled but with the filter system there just isn't enough airflow to cool it down. It's not all bad. The filter system does work fantastically. No dust at all out the exhaust. Easy to empty for me. I can just dump it down a bank and shake the filter in the yard to clean it. If you are using this for a pellet stove or small coal stove using rice or pea this will work just fine maybe even great for you. If you are trying to use this to do your annual cleaning on a larger coal fired stoker with lots of fly ash, it'll get the job done eventually but be prepared to take a few breaks while the motor is cooling down. Based on suction, anything larger than buck coal I wouldn't even attempt to vacuum up with this. Do not purchase the accessory kit. Everything in the accessory kit is already included in the box. I would rate this 4 stars for a pellet or small coal stove.. a 2 or 3 for a larger stoker.

great quality and value
This is my 3rd ash vac and it is absolutely wonderful. Suction is great and the 10'' .hose and 16 foot cord make the pellet stove cleanup so easy. The quality is great and the plus is that it's made in the USA. My other vacs were made in China and didn't last very long

Quiet, Great Suction, Good price, and good build quality
We paid about $100 for this ash vacuum to replace our old loud one. This has a SUPER EASY filter and metal canister to catch all the dust. It is very easy to empty without a mess! I see people writing it "overheats"? We have had no such problem. Clean your filter once a month and follow the directions. Love the caster wheels on the bottom as it is very stable. Overall, "A" quality, quiet. Would purchase again.

Dry shop vacuum, NOT an ash vacuum!
Beware, this is a small size shop vac (dry only) and a decent one for DIY jobs and would be a great product if advertised as such. Poor and dangerous as an ash vacuum. Motor overheats every time you use it and needs to cool off every few minutes. With a few inexpensive modifications it could become an ash vacuum. That’s all my feedback for potential buyers. Here are some free hints to the seller/manufacturer: modify the nozzle so it can easily reach deep into the stove, add an adjustable flow bypass (like they have on regular vacuum cleaner nozzles/hoses) to prevent clogging up of the nozzle, use a steel grate to stop the nylon filter from sticking to and melting the thermoplastic grate you're using now. Dealing with ash (cold ash as you imply in the operator's manual, yet not call it as such on the product) you are more than likely to encounter a hidden amber and yes it will melt the filter, smoldering filter will melt the plastic grate and together they’ll burn the motor filter. You already know about this flaw in the design. Ask yourself a question: how many families using wood stoves never share the tools and their duties in cleaning the stove? It will happen (not may but will happen) that someone not aware of the flaws in this product will use it for not completely cooled ash and burn down their house. Put a word “COLD” before the ASH VACUUM on your product so everyone touching it will know. I can use a regular shop vac for the same purpose you market this cheap substitute for an ash vac and pay less for it and have all family and guests know they’re using a tool for cold ash only.

Great sweeper for the price. Very powerful and well engineered.
This is a great sweeper . I really like the hose and all the accessories. It would have been nice to have some kind of storage for the accessories built in but i just use some gear ties attached to the handle to store the hose and cord. The cord has a velcro strap to keep it secure and the cord is really long. It comes with a bag for the accessories that im gonna devise a way to store on the sweeper also. The suction is better than expected even when the filter is completely saturated with dirt and ash. That's what 10 amps will get ya. They don't mention it in the description but there is also secondary paper style filter on the motor so no ashes are gonna blow out in a customers house when your cleaning there fire place or gas stove for sure and the motor is protested lol. Ive had that happen with shop vacs being there is only one filter and it sucks. Especially when its soot. Great value for the money. The primary big filter is multilayered and the layer that the dust and ash hit first is like polyester and i was surprised how easy the dust and ash comes off of it. One or two taps and its clean. If its good enough for a professional like me its good for a homeowner to. Bery happy with my purchase.
