MOTOPOWER MP00205A 12V 800mA Fully Automatic Battery Charger/Maintainer - UK Plug

Great little kit at a great price - fully charged my motorbike battery and it’s working better than before.

Great piece of kit, reasonably priced and easy to use. Also saves me a bit of work.

I’ll be blunt, it’s a sub £20 12v charger that comes with a fixed install lead and clips. The cable is very short from the mains plug to the unit, but reasonably long from the unit to the connector which you either plug into the crocodile clips or fixed install lead that is hardwired to the battery. Being 0.8 amp, it’s not quick, and it was 1/3 more for a 1amp version from the same seller. The advantage to a simple unit like this is unlike my ‘smart’ charger that handles 6v and 12v, this just outputs 12v, so where as the ‘smart’ chargers often identify a battery with sub 6v as a 6v battery and refuse to provide 12v, this will handle a deeply discharged 12v battery perfectly. Build quality seems decent, it’s certainly no worse than my old Optimte 3, and let’s be realistic, it doesn’t cost much more than a new fixed install cable kit for an Optimate. Overall, a decent buy, and certainly worth the money.

I used the MOTOPOWER MP00205A 12V 800mA fully automatic battery charger/maintainer on my Toyota RAV4 while it was left unused for about 45 days. I simply connected it to the car on the driveway, and when I returned, the 12V battery measured 12.6 V, the car started and drove perfectly, and there was no battery discharge or issues at all. The charger is easy to use, fully automatic, and very affordable at £18. It kept my OEM battery healthy without any need for upgrades or expensive replacements. One important note is that the cable is very short. I had to cut it and extend it by 2 metres to reach comfortably. If you do this, make sure to reconnect properly using electrical tape or solder the wires, and make it waterproof to avoid any risk of damage or short circuits. People should be aware of this before purchase. For anyone leaving their car idle for extended periods, this is a simple, reliable, and cost-effective solution.

Great little charger, does all types of batteries . Mine being a motorcycle battery , charged up from low voltage , and then maintained. Given my bike battery new lease of life. Doesn’t get hot, I wouldn’t leave overnight but that’s just me . However no issues and good quality.

Great little charger supplied with a fused connector to attach directly to a battery, very handy to fit to my motorcycle. Also supplied with a set of insulated crocodile clips which connect to the charger output cable via the insulated connector. The LED display is clear and intuitive. If I have one small criticism, it's the lenght of the power lead which is quite short, this was mentioned in other buyers reviews, however, this did not affect my choice. Very pleased with this purchase.
