I purchased this collar for my little Dachshund who LOVES to chase the delivery man! It's small enough so that it isn't bulky and overwhelming. I really appreciate the fact that the contact pointd are silicone rather than metal. It's less irritating and certainly safer for his skin. The collar has three modes - sound, vibration, and shock - each with 99 levels of intensity. I'm leary about using the shock on any pet, but in the short time we have had it, he has become accustomed to the sound as a "warning," and if needed the vibration has been enough of a deterrent to already see improvement in his behavior. I love that the shock mode has a safety "lock" feature which will prevent unwanted or accidental shocks! The remote control and LED screen make use of the collar very easy. We have a really large yard, and the long-range reach of the remote comes in handy when he's already halfway down the driveway and the delivery truck pulls up! The collar and the remote both have rechargeable batteries, but I've been using them for almost a week now and have not yet needed to recharge. The collar is also waterproof, which isn't a big thing for us since my dog HATES water (won't even step off the porch of it's raining, haha!), but this feature is great for other pet owners when they love to get wet or muddy! So far, this collar has turned out to be exactly what I was looking for! Very happy with the size, fit, and functionality!

I purchased this after having some behavioral issues with my dog, but also because I read reviews that people have used it with cats as well, and I have cats also.It’s very lightweight and a small compact design compared to most I’ve tried over the years. It has three different modes so you can use one or a combination of modes to see which works best for your pet. So far for me it’s been effective, very easy to use, and most importantly safe. It’s also a great little product for the price.I would recommend this to anyone with dogs and/or cats. Would purchase again!

I was hoping for a better description on how to activate the collar but no that wasn’t the case. This collar is impossible to set up I’ll be sending it back

I have more than 20 years experience as a cat owner; I was looking for a training collar for a young but large male cat (2yrs old) that I recently adopted, which has some behavior and anxiety issues from having been a stray before he was found by a cat rescue organization. Specifically, the behavior I am trying to correct involves dominating and chasing a smaller female cat, which begins as play but quickly becomes too aggressive. I have found this collar to be a useful tool, but it isn't a magic solution--you have to be willing to work with the cat over time to get results, which requires patience.Size: the device itself is probably the smallest that you will find and will work for an adult cat, especially larger ones. There is one caveat, which relates to the size of the collar--it's wide and uses plastic quick-release buckles that are a bit too large for a cat, in my opinion. When looking at the product photos, I anticipated this issue and bought a smaller collar for the device, which I have pictured in the attached photos for a side-by-side comparison.Battery Life: Both the collar device and the remote have rechargeable internal batteries that work well. After using the collar for more than a week, I recharged it before it had run out of power. The remote barely uses any power at all, as you would expect, and still has a nearly full charge after 2 weeks of use.Functions: the device will do three things--beep, vibrate, and shock. The beep is very quiet, and you won't hear it from across the room, but the cat will notice it, and it's useful for getting the cat's attention, though not as good as the vibration. The vibration is very effective at interrupting the cat's aggressive behavior; it usually takes pressing the button 2-3 times, but it interrupts his 'aggressive mindset,' which is the goal here. I usually also say "no" when pressing it so he will associate the vibration with the word. The vibration level can be adjusted 1-99, but I keep it set at the strongest setting.A Special Note on the Shock Function: the device is well designed with an electrically conductive silicone, so there are no metal parts pressing into the cat's fur, meaning it's more comfortable for the cat to wear, though I can tell that he doesn't like wearing it, but he gets used to it quickly and forgets it's there. However, even with short fur, the device doesn't shock him, and I would have to shave his neck to allow it to reach the skin, so I'm not using the shock function at all. Moreover, I tested the shock on myself first, starting at level 1-2, and it is VERY strong. The settings go 1-99, but I would never go above 2 for a cat, and more to the point, I would not recommend ever using the shock function with a cat. I have used shock pads on my kitchen counters to keep him off them, which employ a much milder shock and are very effective (two jumps onto these, and he was done jumping on counters). So the conclusion here is: don't use the shock function--it's too strong, problematic, and you don't need it to achieve results.How to Use It: there isn't always a quick solution to cat behavior issues, so you have to be patient and willing to work with your cat over time. If you aren't willing to do that, then this device (and most others) will be useless for you. I expect that it might take 6 months or more to retrain my cat using this device, but that is to be expected, given that the cat lived as a stray for a while and had to survive on his own. The vibration function allows you to apply a gentle corrective action, with the goal of getting the cat out of the 'habit' of the bad behavior. You should remember that your cat doesn't understand that the behavior is bad; in my case, the cat is anxious about having enough food and tries to dominate as a survival mechanism, NOT because he is mean or angry. If you have empathy for your cat, then this device can help you, and I would recommend it.

My little, stubborn puppy finally started to listen and obey. No need for shock option. Responded completely to vibration mode. Would strongly recommend this product for training. Sturdy and well made. At 9 months I thought I was losing the battle. Device changed everything. She even listens now without it. Hooray!
