Is this compatible with the smallrig cage for canon eos m6 mark ii?

I use SmallRig cheese bars and plates for Macro photography and use a Magic Arm to support a 7inch monitor; all components are 1/4" compatible, however, your camera and cage will be heavier than anything I've set up so I can't say for sure. I will say the Magic Arm is robust and well made.

How do the ball sockets at each end tighten to ensure what is attached doesn't slip out of position?

just twist the the fly knob and there is a crimp in the barrel and it tightens up everything it is very stable

Is this suitable for a projector? I have the nebula capsule projector

Technically - yes it would take it as there is a 1/4" mount on the bottom, and when tightened it locks into place quite securely. But why not just use a tripod? The Magic arm does not stand up on it's own, it has 1/4" screws on each end

How is this new 2066b version different to the old one?
