Got an old Helios lens you want to use on a Sony Alpha? This is your man. Using my 50mm Helios on my A230 this produces some beautiful shots wth a lovely texture in the bokeh. Take note you will not get the full bokeh effect due to the sensor size on your camera being smaller (APS-C) but it's still great way to give new life to lovely old optics.

Well made and works well .I already owned some old, good quality ,M42 lenses and have now used them on my a230 dslr with good results. Its a basic adapter with no circuitry so you have to set the shutter speed and iso manually on the camera and set aperture (f number) and focus manually on the lens.Dont let this put you off. Its a skill all keen photographers should learn anyway.

When screwed onto the lens and attached to the camera, they rock back and forth as you focus back and forth. Got two of these and they are both rubbish. don't buy these things. I am sending mine back for a refund. I will have try some other make.

Apart from being silver and not black as in the product description and what was written on the box, these adapters are perfect for mounting M42 lenses onto my Sony A-mount cameras. Quality looks and feels good and lens sits correctly on the camera once fitted. Not sure why there is a star rating for "Auto focus", as this will never auto focus, as the lenses are purely manual.UPDATE: the next one I ordered was black.UPDATE: the next one was silver.
