A page turner
Amelie finds herself entering into a marriage of convenience with the very rich Ned. 31 days she has stayed married to him, that's all. But then they're kidnapped. And things change.A book where much of the first part is spent with Amelie circling a small room with a mattress in the corner and the only light in a bathroom could drag. However, it set the scene, how she ended up in the position she was in, and why she felt safer in her "prison" rather than with her new husband. Yes, characters could have been developed more. Yes, I wasn't so invested in Amelie as a character, but I was invested in her story and why she was part of the kidnapping. This book kept me hooked. I had my suspicions of who was behind it all but also didn't join all the dots (kudos for all those that did). I didn't feel the need to delve into each and every character. I neither liked nor disliked Amelie. For me, it was not so much about what happened to the characters but more so about the how and why. The "maybe" at the end hints that there will be a happy ending and don't we all want that?

The Prisoner
I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end! It's not often I like endings of books, often disappointed, but this one had everything and did not disappoint!I had guessed part of what was going on and was pleased that what I'd suspected was indeed true.Kept me interested and positively riveted until the very last page.Thank you B A Paris, for such an imaginative and well thought out plot, and a very interesting, exciting read.

Really enjoyed it, had me gripped throughout
Once I started reading I couldn't stop, as the tension had me wanting to read just one more chapter each night. While I'm not usually a fan of books that jump backwards and forwards in time, this one seemed to work for me. There were a few scenarios that seemed rather unrealistic and a bit too convenient (can't elaborate without spoilers) and the ending summing up the whys and wherefores was a littlĺe bit rushed and confusing, but on the whole I really enjoyed it.

Really well written story, perhaps a little rushed at the end.
A really good read, the type you don’t want to read in instalments! I felt the final information a little rushed- so much to take in.

Gripping…
I’ve read all B A Paris’ books and this one didn’t disappoint… the change from past to present may frustrate initially but it’s essential to ‘get’ the whole story … read in 2 days what more can i say
