Powerful but dependent on the sun
We got two of these for use while camping. They work great as long as the sun is shining on the solar cell. Clouds? No fan. Sun? Lots of fan. This is as expected. While we were not using this product for its intended purpose, it worked just fine for what we needed. We’re going to make a bracket of some sort to allow it to rest on a table - that’s the only thing that made or not perfect for our needs.I would definitely buy this again.

Very good, except one little thing.
Yes, this fan is inexpensive and yet effective. It is quite quiet (acceptable to me),and the solar panel is good, it works in low light (sun rise or sunset) too.It has only one small problem, but it may not bother everyone.I have an attic and I mount it on the roof inside, so the fan is actuallyfacing up, almost completely to the sky. And after a few days of use, thepropeller (the fan) fell out from the motor assembly due to gravity, so itwon't turn anymore. That's why I gave it a 4 star.I pushed it back in, worked for a few minutes, and it fell off again.I finally fixed this problem with a pretty neat trick, but I don't thinkan average person will have the skill, and tools, and material to do what Idid.Fortunately, if you mount the fan facing sideway, it should not be a problem.

Second review
I purchased this solar fan for my greenhouse. My first mistake was thinking it would last for more than a month. I cut a hole in the greenhouse to install. It stopped working. I was busy preparing for the hurricane so didn’t realize the return date closed 2 days after it stopped working. No way to receive any help. Expensive for less than a month working. REALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH PRODUCT AND COMPANY. Follow up review. Company sent a replacement fan and solar panel. Has been working fantastic for months now.

Powerful for price but loud
This fan works great for what I needed. It is very loud and difficult to eliminate rattling sounds. The fan is powerful when solar panel is in direct sunlight but quickly looses power with the slightest shadow or slightly off angle from the sun. At the price it’s a decent buy for the right setting.

Easy to install works great
I installed this last week and it is perfect for what I need. It was easy to cut a hole in the wall and I drilled a small hole in the soffit for the wire. It has an on/off switch for winter. Before you would cook in oven in there now it is a cool workshop.

Piece of junk!!!
I bought this product last year for my brand new shed and install was easy. At first it worked with no problems and did as it said. This year however I noticed after spring/summer started it stopped working. Checked all connections and after taking off the cover the fan blade had disconnected from the motor. Haven’t even had it for a year and basically only ran for a total of 5 months. This product is not worth the money and is built shady!! And of course it’s out of warranty or returnable. Never again will I trust this company. Congrats to them for a sucker buy!!! Beware to anyone looking at this! Piece of junk.

Updated review: Cheap DC motor does not last long
UPDATE 5/24: Dropping back to a 2-star due to fan motor failure after just 7 months in service. This fan is outdoors on a shed wall, under the eaves about 7ft off the ground, protected from rain and sun. It uses a cheap DC motor that simply does not stand the test of time.UPDATE: This was originally a 2-star review based on (what appears to be) the identical item that I purchased over a year ago; however, the seller of this item contacted me and not only informed me that this version of the fan has only been on the market for a few months, but also offered me a refund. I didn't accept the refund, since I haven't even unboxed the new product yet -- so I'm going to use it awhile and update this review again. I've bumped it to four stars in the meantime, just based on the responsiveness of their customer support. I still have concerns with the longevity of the DC fan motor, specifically that the bearings/bushings will wear out fairly quickly under constant use, but I'm going to give it a legitimate chance to impress me. The fact remains that, for the money, this is still one of the best deals on a solar-powered vent fan.ORIGINAL REVIEW:It's not bad for the price, it works. Put the panel in direct sunlight, and the fan moves a decent amount of air. I installed one in a 12x20ft shed, also insulated the shed with 1" styrofoam panels, and the fan circulates enough air to keep moisture-related issues to a minimum. After one year, though, the fan motor has pretty much given up the ghost. It barely spins, even with direct sunlight on the panel, even after cleaning and lubricating the motor. So I'm having to replace the unit...which is why I recommend installing it in such a way that you can replace it easily.
