Very well written. I would highly recommend this. Word of advise - the cube is very difficult for beginners. Not appropriate for young kids, it will only frustrate them. Maybe 8-10 years old minimum. It took me 5 hours the first time to solve puzzle, 2 hours the second time. Two thirds of puzzle is very easy to master without book and can easily be learned. Final third is difficult to master without book, but can be mastered with practice. After many days of practice, I can now solve cube without book. Most younger kids would lose patience after an hour. Recap - book is well worth price, and is well written with good illustrations. Review: this book is much more fun than following videos on YouTube - A Rubik’s Cube is always fun, no matter whether you can solve it or not. I picked up this book because kids got interested in learning how to solve it. I have to admit that this book is much more fun than following videos on YouTube. It talks to children in a simple, well-organized language. The instructions are colorful and easy to follow; they keep the child engaged.

good system
A step by step system for solving a Rubik's cube. Detail and organized with simple instructions. My one caveat is that the tone in the early chapters was as if the reader was 3 or 4 years old or a puppy. A 7 to 10 year old reading this would roll their eyes. Fortunately, the tone disappeared after chapter 2.

A fun way for kids and parents to learn
I got this book to help my child finally solve a Rubik’s Cube, and it really delivered. The steps are clear, the illustrations are bright, and the little stories kept my child interested. It felt fun instead of frustrating, and we actually enjoyed learning together. A great win for curious kids.

I can solve a Rubik's cube now! Can't believe it. Only took me 41 years.
I am 49. My son is 9. I have spent my whole life just noodling around with a Rubik's cube when I see one, having absolutely no idea what I am doing, and consequently getting absolutely nowhere. Up until now, they have just been a piece of nostalgia. Well NOT ANYMORE! This book was just lovely. It is written very well with excellent illustrations. My 9 year old MAY have been able to do it by himself, but he and I had absolutely no issues doing it together. The author presents one very straight forward system for working through the cube layer by layer that, as long as you stay focused, is very effective. It works ALMOST every time. I continually had issues with chapter number 7 not working correctly...but chances are it is something that I'm doing. Regardless, my son and I both thoroughly enjoyed the book and have now solved Rubik's cubes dozens of times in the past week. The author also includes a link to videos for each step. These are great. The book is so clear they aren't really necessary, but if you get stuck it's a nice way to get extra help. I wish these videos also had spoken instruction, but the fact that they exists at all is great. I would love if the book had more resources/recommendations at the end with where to go next once you master this system, but I am soooo glad I got this one. Kudos and thanks to Gabriel Nedelcu (the author!) PS....do yourself a favor and buy yourself a speed cube. Sooooooo much nicer than that creaky thing I grew up with.

Cute idea, complicated for most kids
I love Rubik’s Cube, it's a great activity for kids and I hoped this book would help my nephews understand how easy it is to play and enjoy one. Unfortunately this might be too complicated for under 8s and boring to keep the attention of kids over 12 (they have phones and video games now). Might works for someone at exactly that right age around 9. The illustrations are cute and the concept is great, but my older nephew (12) showed me a video that taught him faster, so he didn't really engage.

It was fun to re-connect with the fun puzzle-solving f my childhood. I remember someone showing me how to do the rubik's cube and once you learn the system (or one of them) you can always solve it. Of course that was some time ago and I have forgotten all the moves. I must say, it is quite the task to try and explain this in a written format. But the writer did a good job. I am just not sure what age group this book is aimed at. It is written in a way that would be relatable for 7 year olds, but the systems explained are much too complex for that age group. It is a good thing the book offers videos as a bonus that can make it easier for younger kids and visual learners.

This book focuses on progress rather than perfection, which makes a big difference for kids. Each step feels like a small win, and by the end, the sense of achievement is real. Solving the cube becomes less about speed and more about understanding. Overall, it’s a positive, encouraging guide that turns a tricky puzzle into an exciting success story.
