Installation Tips and Troubles
Corrected to indicate that I have K-style gutters, not ogee.I used 3 75-foot containers of the gutter screens. They are quite stoutand simple to use. I have 5-inch K-style gutters with long nails aboutevery 3 feet driven through the very top section of the gutters withvery little space between the top of the nails (aluminum spacerscovering the nails) and the bottom of the lip of the top of the gutters. To use these screens, I had to use sheet metal snips to cut backthe lower part of the screens so that the spring ridge (lower part)of the screens could fit between the nail/cover and the gutter lip inside.I had both inside and outside 45 degree corners to fit, so customcutting was required many times. The screens appear deep enoughto use on 6 or 5 inch gutters, so they have to tuck up quite deeplyunder my shingles in my 5 inch application. I found that at cornersin particular, cutting some of the top (back) of the screens made insertioneasier/possible. Also note that it required quite a bit of liftingof shingles, so don't try this on a cold day or you may crack/breakshingles. The ends of the screen runs leave a triangular openingthrough which a few leaves/needles might enter -- would be nice to havea snap-on end-cap available at extra cost for those who want it --bending the screens down is not elegant nor totally effective. One key tip: the screens come with a slight crown. You definitelywant to reverse that for the first inch or two at the back as that willallow them to slide above the drip edge and below the shingles moreeasily, depending on how high your gutters on mounted on your facia.Note that if you don't have ladder spreader arms to keep your laddersupported by the roof and not the gutter, the ladder will compressthe gutter and hence your screen installation will be more difficult, plus when you remove the ladder the screens may not slide out fullyto the gutter edge and you may have a gap. Highly recommendusing the ladder spreader support arms during installation where possible.Another trick: take a metal coat hanger and bend a small right angleon one end. Use that as a tool to manipulate the screens -- oncethey are tucked under the shingles, moving them left to right or frontand back becomes very difficult. Having a tool that can be insertedinto the screen's holes makes it much easier (though not easy).Where the screens are to overlap, there is a nice cut-out on the front edge.I found that under the shingles it was very hard to slide one over theother. I arrived at the solution to insert the "top" screen sectionover the existing/under section and then slide the top screen "off" ofthe under section until the overlap was as desired, rather than tryingto slide the "top" section "onto" the existing section. So, startwith more overlap than needed, not the other way around.Overall, I found the product excellent. Installation is a bunch of work,on a ladder, with sheet metal snips. I would say my total installationperiod was at least 10 hours over 3 days. Every screen had to be cut,for at least the nail issue. Obviously, the long, straight gutterruns were much easier and faster. I have a deluge of maple seedsin the spring and live in a forest so many Fall leaves. I alsohave a neighbor's very tall pine tree with long thin needlesthat find their way to my gutters. If I encounter any of thosebeing able to breach the screens, I will update this review.Good luck.

Keep out the leaves
These work to keep out the leaves and protect your home. I purchased stainless hex screws to fasten them to the gutters. They are sturdy and powder coated. They are steel however and will rust out eventually. If they were aluminum or stainless it would be better. I will update as they age.10/24/23 update. As some have mentioned these do cause some of the rain water to flow over the gutter and drip significantly. I suppose it may be a trade off however not ideal. I have another property that has gutter guard brand installed. They work well in mild to light rain. But let me tell you when it pours, almost all the rainwater flows over the lip, as the water momentum s to strong. Another property with a custom made on site brand similer that does the same.

Good quality for the money
Ended up working out good. Easy to install tucked under the shingles with the grooved side going into the front part of the gutter in the inside. Was enough to do the entire back side of my dad's house. Would buy again. Came in a nice black finish. Didn't weigh much making it easy to maneuver.

Easy to install, sturdy and works!
I installed these as I live under several huge pine trees and the needles and cones were clogging up the gutters on a bi-monthly basis. Didn't expect these to catch all the needles but I've been positively surprised! Not only does it repel the hundreds of pine cones, but I'm guessing only 5-10% of the pine needles come through - so few that they instantly wash away with no issues!Installation is easy - I have a very old house so one side was easier than the other where the gutter was pretty bumped up. A few screws to hold it in place did the trick and they look great - my house is in a dip so I can see them from the road and it actually makes the house look nicer.Highly recommended, worth the effort to never have to clean your gutters again!

CUT TO FIT (IF GUTTER IS 5" CUT TO 5") AND PUT INSIDE THE GUTTER - NOT UNDER THE SHINGLES
Using a table saw and metal cutting blade I cut all of the gutter guards to 5" (same width as the gutter). With a little effort they slipped in perfectly. What a huge cost savings at $1.00 a foot.

an inexpensive DIY approach to gutter guard installation
I have been inundated with ads for "gutter guard installers" after upgrading my gutter system around the house. For less than $200 I was able to buy the necessary amount of guards from Amerimax and installed them in a few hours work over a couple of days. Now, just need to monitor to see how well the keep leaves, debris out of the gutters and allow the rain/storm drains to flow freely.
