Great upgrade to the old Arduino Uno
These new Uno's are much faster and more powerful then their old sisters, I was impressed with the power of the new devices, I have now purchased both of the new units and have played with them enough to know the power that Arduino has added to the new devices. I can't wait till the Chinese get around to cloning them so the price will go down a bit, these are still a bit spendy but can be found at a reasonable price if you shop around enough, for example they are cheaper to get directly from the manufacturer then most of the online sellers who are still getting a premium because of the hype that surrounds the new release.

Good for beginners oe advanced builders
I agree with You Tube that this is best for both beginners and advanced users It seems to work with Windows OK, but I can't get it to download a sketch in Linux Mint. Check update below. The built in DAC simplifies wave form generation without using the mcp4725 board. UPDATE: Working with Linux. If you wish to use the Minima in Linux like Ubuntu or Mint, download the shell script from Arduino Website to modify the Arduino Ide to recognize the usb port. Goto Select Other Board and Port. Select the proper Arduino UNO version and the PORT should show up on the right side. Check it (mark it to use) and you should be ready to go.

Not the most powerful, but the Arduino ecosystem and support community is worth the price
Decent little board in the Arduino ecosystem. Sure, there are more powerful boards out there, but for most projects I'll do, this does the trick. Only downside is the 8mA limit on outputs. It's kind of limiting. Pair it with a pocketful of transistors and you should be good.

Does anybody know what the current draw on the usb is? I believe this board killed my MSI motherboard. computer shutoff while in serial monitor testing a program

Modern version of the Uno
Modern version of the Uno but not suitable for beginners who might blow up the processor, as unlike the R3, the chip is soldered down. Other than that it's ideal for my project work.
