Gait belt
Bought this gait belt for a relative in rehab. The drs office does provide one, but only the cloth one and for this relative we'd like to offer more support. Enter this beauty. The multiple handles mean that at least two of us can hold her up and offer the support she needs as she navigates the healing process. It also arrived in record time, so thank you for that. Would definitely recommend this product. The only thing manufacturer may want to consider is that this may still be too large for some patients, maybe enable it to be a bit tighter than the current tightness. And yes, we've pulled it as tight as it can go.

Fastener
Works as stated, but You have to make sure the fastener is fully hooked in - tends to come open easily.

This has been a life saver
My mother-in-law has dementia and it’s in the later stages. She’s been having a lot of difficulty keeping her balance and walking. She does have a wheelchair but for those times when she uses her walker or her caregiver is helping to get her up or down off the chair this gait belt has been wonderful. It’s sturdy, it’s wide enough that it isn’t pinching her anywhere. I feel that she’s safe and secure when she’s wearing it.

Easy to grip, not for skinny people
I am not super skinny but not a ton of fat anymore and while this is easy for people to grab and help i cannot get it tight enough.

Saves your back!
It feels better to person being lifted, and easier for caregiver by far! I bought one for knee replacement friend to carry some of her weight for her when she has to move on new knee. Also used for myself and my mom with dementia when she needed a diaper change to roll her over on side.

Dangerous!
I use these with my daughter who has trouble walking. She weighs about 140 pounds. The second time I was using this, the buckle broke and she fell to the ground. Luckily she didn’t injure herself too badly, but I returned the item and will never buy it again.
