This device is very easy to use and kids are naturally curious to hear the bird calls. I gave it to grandchildren along with a pair of binoculars so they could use both to identify birds in their yard. It comes with 2 cards of most common birds on it and more cards can be purchased. Another item to add with it could be a book about most common birds, but would they read it? By itself, the Lyrica is fun to use and helps kids recognize the bird calls they hear.

This was a present for my granddaughter. She played the bird calls over and over. She learned to recognize the different bird sounds. She would play with it outside responding to birds she heard in the trees and they would respond to her. It’s pricey but was a very successful birthday present. You can buy extra cards for more animal sounds.

Great product! Wish it came with more bird sound cards instead of having to purchase them separately

I normally do not rate products, but my wife sent this to two of our grandkids, and to say they were excited would be an understatement. We face times with them and we were so impressed, we bought another one to keep at our home! The unit came will packaged and on time. Batteries were included which was a nice surprise. No instructions were really needed. Once you turn the unit on, hit any of the buttons and listen to the sound of a bird. Volume control worked, and the explanation which is provided is good. One of our grandkids took it outside, played a bird call, and lo and behold a bird showed to up! I would recommend this to be give to any child who has an interest in birds. If down the road we encounter any issues, i will amend this review.

We were able to call birds to within a few feet of us! We were surprised that the birds could hear us from so far away, but the clarity of sound the identifer has worked every time! My friend listened to it and bought one for her grandson too!

Sound is excellent. The calls and songs are precise. Easy enough for my four year old. He has feeders and now he plays the songs when watching the birds.

This unit sounds great, however, if you are like me and are replacing your "original" identiflyer player, be aware that this unit will not play the "original" cards, only the new "super" or "lyric" cards. Replacing my stack of 13 original cards is over $50 and there is nothing wrong with the cards.
