An Attractive, Durable Timepiece at a Reasonable Price
A good option for those who desire quality, reliable wristwatch which does not rely on batteries, which often fail at an inconvenient time. Many thanks to Seiko for helping to keep the Automatic alive in an attractive format.

Excellent watch with great features
Perfect size for me and runs great, in the last 5 days it has only gained 5 seconds. The movement is great and the hacking feature is a great. What more can you ask for at this price range, water resistant, day and date and just a reliable watch. Love the domed crystal, it gives it that vintage look and feel. Very easy to read and the lume is strong and it lasts a long time especially when your eyes get use to the dark it glows all night for me. I can't comment on the nato strap because I put a dark brown leather band on it immediately when I received it because I prefer leather bands. The nato strap that it comes with looks like a nice reliable strap but I just prefer leather straps so no marks off for the strap, if you like nato straps it looks nice and durable. 5 stars all the way.

Very good watch with one or two drawbacks
I really like my new Seiko watch, though I'm very disappointed that the illuminated hands don't stay bright very long. I bought this watch because my other watch didn't have illuminated hands and was useless at night. Also, the provided "NATO-style" band is horribly bulky and makes a classy watch look tacky. It leaves a big old flap hanging out that needs to be repeatedly re-tucked away, and it also puts several layers of strap between the watch and your wrist. I immediately replaced the band with a simple $25 band from the Watch Steward. It has the same khaki look that matches the watch's quasi-military style.

Got a defective one
Stopped running twice during first 24hours of use. Was wearing it, moving about so you’d think it would have charged itself better. Perhaps a bad unit. Returned it & went with another model. Very disappointed, thought Seikos were better than this.

Loving this watch...
I've been going through a phase where I'm starting to embrace smaller watches after decades of wearing large dial models with diameters exceeding 40-plus millimeters. I also have started to look at watches with other than black dials, which make up a large percentage of my collection.Towards that end, I bought this Seiko in 36mm with the light beige dial. I have several Seiko 5 models in 40mm with the classic black dial, and have nothing bad to say about them in terms of functionality and looks, so I expected nothing less from this smaller model, and I'm happy to say that it is fantastic. The legibility is terrific, which is important on a small dial watch, since I would not want to have to put on reading glasses to see what time it is... no problem with this watch. One thing, and this is just me, but I've retired my infatuation with NATO straps. All my Seikos came on these straps, but I don't care for the sloppy tucked in extra material that adds visual bulk to the side of the strap. So when I ordered this watch with 18mm lugs, I ordered a Riche two-piece canvas strap in the same color as the supplied NATO, and it makes a giant difference for me.I'm 100% happy that I bought this watch.

Good field watch
For the price point, really solid watch. Color is nice, it’s automatic, good water resistance, and wears nice on wrist.
