No power
This unit was rather large and not very attractive. It did not provide much in the way of water movement.

It's like a turtle treadmill
My daughter got a water turtle from her preschool about five years meaning about 4-1/2 years ago I took over caring for said turtle. My biggest take away is man he's dirty. Two filters can keep up for 2 weeks before they start to clog. I came across this aquarium wave machine and got idea. What if I stacked the filters on one side and pointed the current towards them. Fast forward a few weeks and it's been working well, I think I need to put some kind of platform under the filters that can cover solid waste and prevent the turtle from smashing it into smaller pieces (I'll then net at a later time). Anyway funny moment I caught him swim (fast) into the current, but as soon as he saw me he stopped. I'm pleased with this product, it's really powerful.

Powerful
This thing is well-built, not too obnoxious, has a strong suction-locking mechanism, and is really powerful. Basically plug-and-play. I placed the 10w into a 20 gallon freshwater tank, and let me tell you, this thing is powerful. When I tried to aim it towards the top for the wave-like effect, it reminded me of the time that my son got curious about the bidet and pulled the trigger and it sprayed a small area of paint off of my wall.If you have any plants in your aquarium that aren't anchored down or that don't have established roots, this thing is like a metal detector in an aluminum factory --- it's going to point those out real quick. As for the fauna, everyone has adjusted to it now. Neocaridina shrimp and Amano shrimp easily get pushed across the tank, but not dangerously so. Neon tetras and von rio tetras could essentially maintain their positions without it feeling like they worked too hard. My mollies like it and one of them seemed to appreciate that it tickled his balloon belly.I really like this, but I don't trust it enough yet to have it run near the surface. Tank is rimless without a lid and if the water level dips a bit on any given day, I fear I might find a water park-type scenario after work, but this is my own insecurity and not necessarily an issue with the product.

Moved fluid
The joint nut cracked shortly after setting it in the position, didn’t over tighten it.

Quiet, gets the water moving well
I stuck this in my 70 gallon fish tank with hopes that it might stir up some areas that don't see much movement, so it will get a bit cleaner. It was easy to stick the suction cup to the side of the tank and position the pump to point where you want the movement. It is very quiet, in fact not even noticeable to me. It moves a lot of water and my tank looks a lot cleaner because of it. I worry a bit about the larger openings in the front of the pump--I used to have some very excitable smaller fish that were really quite dumb and flighty that would jump into any opening they could find if they were spooked, and if i had any of those now I feel that they might do just that, water flowing or no. I don't know how one would prevent this from happening but It is something to think about nonetheless. Anyway, it seems to work well so far and my tank looks a lot cleaner.
