Orient Mako 3 Red
The stock photo isn’t completely true to life, and it’s more attractive in person. The dial is more of a subdued brick red / dusty rose color. The bezel is mostly bronze colored with ruby red from 12 to 3. An unusual mix of colors, but they work well together. The bracelet gets a lot of criticism in online reviews, undeserved in my opinion. It’s nicely polished, substantial and classy. It’s a very nice watch that looks more expensive than it is. I expect that’s true of all the color options.Update: After a few weeks of wearing this watch, the accuracy has been really good. Mine runs about a minute or two fast PER WEEK! That’s remarkable for a self winder in this price range.

Quality and appearance
This my favorite Orient, it's a bit small to my wrist, a 44 would be perfect, but there isn't in this color.I can't get tired of looking at it.

Attractive, just a little cheap feeling.
This is my first orient watch. A lot of online reviewers have respect for the brand, and I liked the specs and color scheme of this Orient, so I thought I would try it.It arrived in a decent box and was well protected, but it barely fit inside the box.The Orient has a pleasantly dense feel to the band and case and the finishes are glossy and beautiful. The face is a lovely champagne color with a sunburst pattern. I love the mix of champagne, brown, and deep moss green. It’s very 70s, but in a good way. The face is nicely detailed and has great attention to detail. The second hand moves smoothly and the watch is easy to read at a glance. It keeps time well and isn’t noisy. It stays wound in my automatic winding case. The band is made from dense solid links. It looks great, and feels mostly nice, but something about the way the band moves and the sounds gives it a slightly lower grade feel than my similarly priced Timex, Bulova, or Citizen watches. It’s hard to put in words, and extremely subtle, but it feels like the bracelet does not match the quality of the rest of the watch. The clasp also feels a little “hollow” when locking closed.I love the size. The case is a touch thick, but overall it’s a moderate sized watch and fits me perfectly as a 5’7” and 135 pound male. I had to remove a few links, but it was easy to do with the right tools. All in all… a lovely watch.

Beautiful watch
Striking colors on the bezel/dial, much more of a 'coffee' or 'beige' than an 'ivory', though (a compliment, in my book). Crown comes out smoothly for hacking and the minute hand remains perfectly still as the crown is pushed back in (something I cannot say about a cheaper movement). Does run a bit fast after about 24-hrs, but I really don't mind taking a few seconds to hack it to slow it down while I admire the design. It's my third Orient and none has been anything less than excellent for the price.

Very good watch
One of the best watches for the price point. Orient also has a history and track record of good watches.

Great watch!
The photos don't do the Mako-3 enough justice. What the photos don't capture are the finer details and the felt quality of the watch. It is very comfortable to wear, keeps time well, and feels like you're wearing a watch worth three times more than what it is valued at. You can't go wrong with this watch if it is your first step into the mechanical watch world.
