Size:Medium  |  Color:Forest Green Cetacea chain martingale collars are one of your best choices for a quality training collar. Dog trainers and vets recommend this type of collar when a correction collar is needed. The martingale collar is fashioned after equine designs providing a form of a limited choke collar. The exceptional feature of a martingale collar is that the slip function can be limited to not over-choke your pet. To make the Cetacea martingale more practical than other brands we use a quick release buckle so that the collar can be put on or removed from your dog's head without having to readjust the length.

Great product!
I love these collars because they come with the quick release buckle. I had a hard time finding a sizing chart which was annoying so figured I would add one to my review to hopefully help the next person. If I was the company I would post this but oh well!

Great Collar
I was very pleased with the quality of these collars. They should last the average lifespans of most dogs...and beyond. The chain is heavy and very sturdy, the colors are saturated and bright. Love the turquoise. I like that there is a clasp so I can adjust the collar to a size that won't easily slip over the head. The only problem is lack of sizing information. I got the large for my three collies, 2 rough and 1 smooth, just by guessing. The collars for the big, hairy roughs were okay but the one for the short-haired smooth was ridiculously oversized. She's rather small boned and petite; it literally fell off of her. I've ordered her a medium but don't know if it'll fit. There desperately needs to be a size chart for this product. There are some specifications listed but have no idea what they mean. They don't relate to anything on the collar. If there was sizing information, this would be a 5-star product.

Beware of the clasp!
This collar was fine up until 5 days ago. I was out with my 30 pound mixed breed dog on a 6' leash. She darted off at full speed and the clasp on the collar snapped (the two plastic teeth on it snapped off) leaving me standing there with a leash and a broken collar and my dog running off. Luckily we weren't near a road. The collar is 6 months old. I wrote an email to Cetacea 3 days ago describing what happened, and asked if the collar was under warranty. As of this time, I have not had a response from them.***Update from March 29, 2016***It has been over a week since I sent Cetacea an email, and I still have not received a response.

A safe, humane training collar
When I learned that several large organizations are using this collar for training their service animals, I thought this added some credibility to the use of this collar. I decided to go ahead and get this collar for our English Cream Golden Retriever. Oliver wants to lead and pulls. We have tried just about every type of leash and collars available. From the harness which pulls back on the chest to various types of collars, none of which seemed to work well for our dog.Granted, in trying any new collar or device, it takes time. One cannot expect miracles overnight! When you try a new type of collar or leash, you have to work with the dog repeatedly until he/she gets it (or you). In our case, we are using this collar along with a short leash and it seems to be helping. I am not fond of the choker as it will literally choke a dog. Worse yet, if one does not properly place a choker on a dog, it will not recess back to a normal position. That's the beauty of this collar. It does not have to fit a certain way because there is only one way to put this one on. You simply have to make sure that it's tight enough (one or two fingers slide snug under the collar) that when you tug on the collar, the two end points of the chain comes together tightly. This is how the corrective measure works. It tightens up and then recess or relax to a normal position when the collar is no longer being tugged or quick-snapped.We continue to work with our dog using this collar and thus far, he seems to be getting it. This is the only collar we use now. It's safe, humane (as opposed to a chain choke collar), and easy to use.PROS: Quality, ease of use, durable material, manufacturer's reputation

works great so far
I ordered the large size, which fits my 70 lbs dog just fine. Be careful to note that the color isn't the color in the picture. I ordered a black one, but the picture only shows them in blue. I didn't like how most martingale collars must be slipped on over the head so this is great how it snaps on and off. I bought this collar for training my dog how to walk on a leash, and I wanted something with some metal chain so that he could hear the "snap" correction when he pulls.

Great collar, but no substitute for training
Pros:Fits well.Pretty/Love the colorEasy to adjust.Quick release makes it easy to get on and off, especially if you have a skittish dog that doesn't like to put his/her head through a collar.Cons:Doesn't keep her from pulling, training is required.OK, well folks, you can't rely on a collar to train your dog. Like all collars and harnesses, training is required. You can't just buy a new collar and expect to take your dog on a little stroll through the park. Training is a daily experience with your dog, and deepens your bond. Teach him/her how you want him/her to behave and you will have the perfect pet. It takes work, but it's rewarding. The collar won't do it for you. Remember, train with kindness.

Great Dog Collar; Every Dog Owner Needs One
For dog training and general dog ownership, a martingale collar is the only way to go. Perfect well made collar with just enough correction to be effective, but no risk of "over correcting" as most of the collar is nylon and not all chain. The chain portion does weigh about a pound, and is definitely heftier than the size small collar in this same brand. Will stick with these collars as my Golden Retriever pup grows. He is currently just about 5 months and is fitting well into the Medium size. We were using the small until a few weeks ago (and it would still fit on the largest size if we needed it). Overall a well made collar, good quality, and a must have for proper dog training.

Chain Martingale (web) Collar with Quick Release
Finally a Martingale (with a chain) that has a quick release!!!GREAT sizing overlap. Impressive, actually :)As it turns out I bought TWO DIFFERENT SIZES in this collar: This one along with a "Small" purple one that is 5/8th inch wide and therefore a little lighter in weight (chain part too.)The one listed as "Small" and 5/8th inch in width is PERFECT for my Sheltie. This one would "fit" due to it being adjustable, but my dog does not need so much "collar" so it is GREAT that the one listed as "small" has enough circumference/adjustability to work. This is a well made, substantial collar. Best for a more substantial dog due to weight of chain.I have not tested this on a leash yet... might be a while LOL but I expect it to perform well.

Good Dog Collar.
A good collar and the quick release is a great bonus. The only downside is that it can mark the dogs hair around the neck even if you take it off daily.
