It burns, and I love it!
Probably one of the toughest, most rewarding workouts I've ever tried. It really burns but wow, is it worth it! It makes you feel so good, firstly for the sense of achievement when you complete it without bailing out, and then the next day when you really feel the benefit and the changes in your muscles. After two weeks of doing this consistently, three times a week, I lost 7lb and had definition in my inner thighs I could only have dreamt of. It's tough going but the instructor is very encouraging, just as you feel it really burn and are tempted to stop, she tells you she's feeling it too and it's going to be worth it, and to focus on your goal. Suzanne Bowen is a really excellent instructor, she's professional, friendly and very motivating. I love it when I'm starting to shake and the temptation to stop creeps up, and she smiles and says 'you can do anything for 10' and then counts me down. Brilliant motivator!There's no cardio as such but the whole workout always leaves me exhausted and sweating, so I know I'm burning fat as well as toning muscle. Each of the segments uses weights.Segments are:Arms - a variety of moves here hitting the whole arm and the shoulders. A mix of pilates and traditional weights moves, such as bugs, lateral raises, push ups and reverse push ups.Thighs - my favourite (the groove of muscle down my inner thigh was hard earned and all due to this section) it's hard but if you stick at it you'll be delighted with the result. You do plies, squats, and pilates leg raises, and you really feel it in the inner thigh which is an area I've always found previous workouts just don't quite hit that hard.Bum - a really varied section which you really feel lifting the glutes, with bridges, glute raises, and squats that really squeeze into the glutes.Abs - a mix of classic body conditioning and pilates moves such as c-curves, bicycle, v-sits, side planks and crunches, very effective and still 'do-able' if you have a weak lower back, as I do.Total body - this mixes some moves from previous segments with new moves and one leg balances, and more pilates work such as planks which are excellent fat burners.The bonus disc is also really good, and the mix of segments makes it suitable as a whole workout in itself, or you can combine one of the segments with the main Blast Off Body Fat Workout to really target a particular area. On the bonus disc you get:Pilates Buns and Thighs (from Pilates) - very good, well explained and effective pilates moves.Yoga for Flexibility and Relaxation (from Yoga) - lovely, relaxing yoga session, really good for stretching.Belly Fat Blaster (from Blast Off Belly Fat, also featuring Bowen) - an abs focused cardio segment, with knee raises and squats.Arms (from Target Toning for Beginners) - not as easy as the title suugests, a good arm/shoulder workout.Fat Burning Blast (from Kickbox Bootcamp) - very tough cardio section with military style drills and burpees.I totally love this dvd, it's the most rewarding fitness dvd I've ever owned and I do have several.

Unique workout - a great new addition to the 10 minute solution series
I have most of the 10 minute solution exercises DVDs and I couldn't wait for this latest one latest from Suzanne Bowen. I really rate 10 Minute Solution - Pilates Perfect Body [DVD ]and [[ASIN:B001J1O852 10 Minute Solution: Blast Off Belly Fat and this dvd is just as good as those two. I am reviewing it after using it regularly for a couple of weeks. Right from the start I felt it was easy to follow as the instructions and cueing are so good. This DVD is certainly challenging and highly efficient, all the exercises are rapid and fast so you do get a bit of a cardio fat burning effect. I rate all 5 sections, I didn't feel there were any weaker ones.I would rate this intermediate to advanced, but you can work slowly up by starting with just one section. I found that you do need a lot of upper body strength and strong wrists to complete some of the exercises. There are lots of pulsing, squeezing and just as you think you can't possibly do any more reps or hold the move, the instructor moves on to something else. As Suzanne says: you have to work for it to get the results. The next day I do have muscle burn, so I know these exercises are effective and well worth the considerable effort. I am out of my comfort zone and ready to attack the post Christmas flab and tub. My trousers fit better already and my lower stomach area is definitely better. You need a set of hand held weights throughout. The instructor doesn't say what weight to use, she just says use light weights. I used 3lb weights.The 5 sections are: Arms, lots of high reps as well as push ups, planks and triceps dips, you do need good arm strength and strong wrists.Thighs: My favourite, as this section works the inner thighs, if you run regularly it is good to work on this neglected area, I found it really effective. Lots of great new moves incorporating lunges, squats and plies.Bum: Lots of extra little pulses to get your bum cheeks looking good. In one move you get on to all fours and place a weight behind your knee and lift your bum into the air - and lift and pulse. Truly effective.Abs: Completely new exercises here and new variations of old classics: crunches, bicycles, v sits and side planks. Again, with the side planks your upper body is worked hard, my arms and wrists certainly felt it!Total body: Top to toe exercises, lots of planks and variations on plank exercises. There are also lots of balancing exercises, which I found to be very effective. All challenging, but doable.Bonus DVD: There is an extra bonus DVD which features 5, 10 minute programmes from the best of 10 minute solution series:10 minute solution Rapid Results Pilates - pilates for bum and thighs, 10 minute solution Target toning for beginners- arms, 10 minute solution kickboxing - fat burning blast. 10 minute solution Blast of belly fat - belly fat blaster, 10 minute solution yoga - yoga for flexibility and relaxationEach time I do this DVD I like it more and more - the instructor is so calm and clear and has obviously spent a lot of time perfecting her craft. I look forward to using this for years to come.

DVD efficace
Suzanne Bowen propose comme à chaque fois des exercices super efficaces. L'intérêt de ce DVD est de proposer un travail de bras, d'abdos, des jambes en 10 minutes. Les exercices sont variés. Super !
