My pool filter has a triport gasket that began leaking after 10 years of use. I got a replacement gasket, opened up the valve, removed the old one, cleaned up the surface and put the new one in on a bed of Blue RTV. I let it get sticky for about 10 minutes which was on the instructions before putting the new gasket in place.What I didnt realize is that there is a right-side-up for that rubber gasket, and of course with Murphy's law, I had a 50/50 chance of getting it right -- which I did not!I had to disassemble the valve, remove the new/old gasket which had cured by this time. It came out perfectly and easily! A new bed of RTV went in, 10 minutes later the new/new gasket, and then 24 hours of cure time.Not a single leak and operates like new. Some people use superglue to hold in the gasket which would have been a disaster since you will have to replace it after either years or the realization you got it in upside down. The RTV came out like a dream and left no residue.

This RTV is very good and priced fairly cheap. Applies easy, sticks, dries and seals. What more do you need?

Used this to reseal a water pump. It’s a little different than what I’ve been using before. You apply it and let it sit for about 10 minutes and then assemble the parts. Torque lightly and let it cure. I left it alone for 24 hours and didn’t retorque. It’s leak free. I probably could have used it sooner, but I had time, so I let it cure completely and now the water pump is leaking free.It was actually easy to spread. I applied liberally and flattened it out using a spatula. I let it sit and assembled.

Great stuff, drys quick and does the job, zero bs!
