This is a pretty good tool for doing JST connectors but I caution against using it on heavier terminals like Sta-Kon open barrel connectors. I also found the release lever to be difficult to reach and disengage if you are near the end of a crimp. Other than those gotcha's, it's a decent crimper for the price.

I struggled with the first few crimps of a mini-fit jr. molex setup, but once I figured out that you need to put the terminal into the crimping tool first, make sure it is properly aligned, and then push the wire into the back side of the terminator did things go smoothly.Adjusting crimping force is a bit difficult to do. When it was delivered the force was pretty close to max and it crushed a few terminators. I dialed it back a bit and all is good now.

I really liked the feel of this tool. It felt like a quality tool and it is. It fit my hand well and worked flawlessly. I'm very pleased to have this tool as part of my systems integration toolbox.

When it comes to reliable low voltage electrical connections, the proper plugs and sockets are a must. These are easy to use and reliable.

Great for super small connectors

I've been working on cars and bikes for 30 years and have been crushing connectors with pliers the whole time. Then I go through the trouble of soldering on top of that. I'm restoring an older bike right now with tons of bullet connectors and this tool has been a lifesaver. Give yourself a couple of test crimps, but I had it in no time flat. I did loosen the clamping force a tad. Oh, and you don't have to strip the wire nearly as much. Just load up a connector, give it one click, bring it to your wire and clamp it down. No solder necessary.
